I didn't figure I should post this in Doom Streams since it isn't a stream but I made a YouTube channel that does DOOM content and I want to self-promote it every once in a while.

I did Doom 1 and Doom 2's first levels. First custom WAD I will start is probably just casual playthroughs of Memento Mori and/or Requiem.

I can suggest you some Doom WADs if you want. You can also search at the WADs and Mods forum

Is it actually good? I feel like any good maps from Maximum Doom are impossible to find.

I'd add Tempest to that list, probably even to the top of that list. (AstroX is the creator)

I think he means that he took inspiration by Decino to begin his DoomTube career. By seeing his videos, he wanted to do the same. Also, thanks to him, I found more good WADs to play

 

To sum up, Decino is a very cool YouTuber who can inspire some people

Yes, if I had to pick just one wad from Max Doom it would be Oracle, a goddamn giant city of a map made by Jim Flynn, who also is represented on the Master Levels.

I'll need to play that then, I generally love Jim Flynn maps. I don't like Monster Mansion from Eternal Doom, but otherwise he's one of my favorites

It's actually all kind of a giant blur. I have a couple of levels in mind, but in no way whatsoever remember their names. I'm just going to say my favorite was that one really advanced E1M1 remake, just cause I know that by saying that, I am guaranteed to tick someone off.

I've only played Sigil out of all the ones on your list. I really enjoyed it, not as good a level set as the original Doom, nowhere close, but still a fun playthrough. I suggest you also check out 32-level megawad called "The Hell on Earth Starter Pack" it was a fantastic level set, but it was made for Brutal Doom.

I seriously wouldn't recommend to play Cosmogenesis unless you are a Doom God AND you have a LOT of patience for that kind of stuff.

 

I am actually kind of disappointed the people here haven't given good recommendations. I would recommend these wads:

• Skillsaw's wads (Lunatic, Vanguard, Valiant, Ancient Aliens, Heartland)
• Eviternity
• TNT : Revilution
• Plutonia 2 and Plutonia Revisited
• 1000 Lines CP wads (especially 1000 Lines 3)
• Back to Saturn X (BTSX) E1 and E2
• Scythe 1 and 2
• Alien Vendetta
• Jenesis
• Deathless
• NRFTL (if you are doing Sigil, why not add NRFTL as well)
• Going Down
• The Darkening E1 and E2 (E2 is kind of a BTSX before BTSX)
• Memento Mori 2 (you are doing Memento Mori and Requiem, so why not add this as well)

These are just some of the wads that came to my mind right now.
