Yeah, it's a nice jack. And I really do appreciate him giving it to me (I know he worries, he was so happy the first time he saw that I had bought jack stands), it's certainly nicer than my old one; I'm going to gift my old two ton to my Mother. She doesn't have a hydraulic jack, and it would be handy for replacing a tire if need be. Although she would probably just call me if anything goes wrong with her vehicle anyway.

 

But I still don't think the jack I've been using is bad, and once I told him it cost over 100 dollars, he said "Oh, okay". He's the man that taught me most of everything I know about cars and fixing them safely. His lessons are burned in my brain, and I'm not going to risk my life with bad equipment. I can fix quite a few things on cars, I'm not going to risk having the chassis slam down on my face while I'm doing it.

Got an import pack of my favorite candy bars (Violet Crumble!) and someone got me a download code for the Switch port of Doom Eternal.

 

Unfortunately I have to wait until I'm not snowed in to go someplace with better wifi to download it, but eh. Still excited!

This was the final present of the year for me; I have had an A L I E N figure before, but a static model kit; this is fully posable :) Should keep the rats out of the house :P

Got some new underwear, which honestly I was quite happy for, as well as a little bit of money and a box of chocolates. Also got a headlamp, which has been useful for walking the dog in dark hours.

 

20 years ago, I would have thought this sucked (except the money), but honestly I really love practical gifts I have a use for.

As a former 8-10 year old, I'm jealous. I absolutely loved Alien dolls, but I gave all of my toys to my younger brother when I was 14, he was 4. Not sure what he did with them.

 

I had some really neat Alien toys though, one that could shoot it's inner mouth out. And an acid spitter that you could fill with water and it would spray it out. Fun toys.

It's a little belated Christmas-wise, but I just got a Google Pixel 6 128GB phone. It replaces a relatively old Samsung Galaxy J7 16GB phone that was a pain in the ass to take out of the house. The Pixel 6 will travel with me - at least, that's the plan. It damn well better travel with me.

A little late to the party, but here I go:

 

My parents got me a LEGO X-Wing (specifically Poe Dameron's from Rise of Skywalker). It's a fun build and has a wing mechanism that's way sturdier than its design gives it any right to be. Funnily enough they had already gotten me Luke's X-Wing for Christmas several years ago and had forgotten about it, and probably wouldn't have gotten this one had they remembered that (I don't mind, it's not the same ship and they look awesome side-by-side). Wish it had come with BB8 instead of R2-D2, but that's the movie's fault. Perfect gift for children 23+.

 

My brother got me a novelty mug that proclaims that under my steely exterior beats the heart of a dashing hero. Is it egotistical for me to think that that description isn't entirely inaccurate? I love it and it will sit proudly on my desk once I'm back at my apartment.

 

As for the gifts I gave, I got my dad the newest John Grisham novel, The Judge's List; for my mom I got the latest entry in the Outlander series; and for my brother, a $50 Xbox gift card. When I went to buy the card from EB Games they were going to have the code printed on the receipt and I wouldn't get an actual card. I bought a card from a Shoppers' Drugmart instead. Unwrapping a receipt has to be one of the lamest gifts I've ever heard of. He texted me a few days ago asking if Mass Effect was a good game, and may have bought that with it. I've only heard good things but I'm not sure if he will enjoy it, as he typically dislikes RPGs with branching stories.

Since my Gameboy Color was still under repair (voltage converter died) and i couldn't buy a Analogue Pocket (Credit Cards aren't really common in Europe) aaand i wanted to play PSX Games, i buyed myself that little Guy above for Christmas from Amazon.

 

Feels pretty solid, Picture Quality is great and the Input Lag is really minor.

N64 Games run pretty poor, but Playstation, Snes, Gameboy and so on run great.

Had to change Controls for Gameboy and NES, i can't understand the mapping A to A and B to B, even the Super Gameboy did A to B and B to Y.
