DoomWiki Month in Review (Issue #35)

Happy New Year! At the one true wiki the year went out with a bang. Naturally, Cacowards season prompted a flurry of new and updated articles, still ongoing, by existing editors and several newcomers. But early December Dynamo and I also teamed up to fill some longstanding gaps: now all Hacx levels finally have a skeleton article (with Getsu Fune/NuMetalManiak adding secrets last week), the remaining entries in the Kaiser series are covered, and there no more redlinks in the Top 100 WADs of All Time.

 

Elsewhere, Gauss skipped from idTech 1 to 7 and crafted comprehensive walkthroughs for the entire Doom Eternal campaign, including both DLCs! And after several quiet months in the DE department, a lot of other content was added, expanded and improved there as well. Meanwhile the GF/NMM bot... sorry, secrets specialist not only covered dozens more WADs, but also illustrated all Sunder maps with a whopping 315 screenshots. But don't go looking for bloody massacres, it's a nomonsters run.

 

Lastly, for this summary, I started a new XymphBot project in the last week of November by developing and executing the long-desired synchronisation of demo tables in map articles with DSDA records (still ongoing too). If you notice a mistake or formatting glitch, please let me know.

Hats off to an amazing year! 2021 saw truly spectacular work being done on the wiki, and we hope to bring you even more excellent content in 2022. My congratulations to Xymph and NuMetalManiak for their tireless efforts :)

Thanks, but don't forget Gauss (and also Quasar) for the same on Doom Eternal coverage.

Also congratulations to LordSavage1997 for doing Hell to Pay, which is something I actually don't own and can't do secret stuff for. Matador as well for adding several secrets to DBPs and other things too.

 

Spoiler

If anyone is inclined to do secrets for any Hexen or Strife PWADs that are on/show up on Doomwiki then do so. I don't have either of those either.
