Some graphics for my concept megawad using Doom 4 Vanilla Mod.

The main concept is surviving multiple waves of enemies on small but stunningly detailed arenas.

If you're a talented mapper or are well versed with MBF21 features you may still have a chance to join the team.

Having fun with @Linguica's Selfie.exe, which allows InstaDoom on plain old Vanilla DOS:

 

(320x200, converted to PNG)

(About to die to a Mancubus. Using InstaDoom DLC's A4.WAD as the filter.)

 

The timing was perfect here.

 

Selfie.exe allows saving to PCX so whenever you find your selfie stick, you can snap a shot in DOS.

 

Now a little side-story:

 

Ironically, for the longest time the Wiki entry about it said it will take a snap automatically, nothing else is required. This isn't true.

 

Crucially, neither the selfie.zip package (which holds the executable for DOS) or the InstaDoom package make note of a parameter that you need to add to your commandline before this works and that's -devparm. When applied, taking a snap with your selfie stick will make Selfie.exe actually take a .PCX screenshot to the folder where Selfie.exe is located.

 

I figure anyone with a pulse had assumed this already, but i literally was not aware that -devparm had to be enabled to get this to work in DOS. By chance, i found a old Ling post on Discord mentioning the parameter and i realized that this was the missing link.

 

So this is fixed now and to celebrate, took the above shot, in Selfie.exe, 320x200, with the A4 filter of the InstaDoom DLC pack.

 

I love Doom.
