BG213 Posted January 3, 2022 OK. New hour, new problem! I just put a door in a wall and it opens just fine but when it closes it scrolls TWICE through the door animation before stopping! Then when I try to re-open it it scrolls twice through the animation again on both the ascent, and descent! I've never seen something like this before! What could possibily be wrong now?! See link to video. I have the following set-up: Door texture is the upper texture. Door section floor height is 0 (surrounding floor height) and floor height is -112 (height of the door and attached room). I found putting the door texture in the middle slot will open the door down and in the lower texture won't open the door at all. I have been fiddling with this four FOUR BLOODY HOURS tearing my hair out trying to get a silly little door to work! Argh! Slade is sooooo frustrating. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Z0k Posted January 3, 2022 (edited) Door function after opening it will keep moving down until it reach the floor, from here it looks like the floor of the door its a bit lower (probably 128 unit lower assuming door texture heigh is 128), so what you need to do its raise the door floor to the same height of the gray brick floor where you are standing. for me its probably your door looks like this: in editor looks like the one on the left side, but after being opened and closes looks like the one of the right side thats why "double scrolling". and its because door ceiling need to reach the floor. so in order to fix it just raise the door floor to the same heigh of the ceiling door and you shouldnt get double scroll now: Edited January 3, 2022 by Z0k 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Sneezy McGlassFace Posted January 7, 2022 If you put the door texture in the middle slot, it'll stay there even when the door is open. Fun thing is that you may be able to walk through it just fine. When doors close, they look for the lowest available floor. Not the starting position. That means you can have a door that's half-way open, press on them to open them, and when they close, they go all the way down. It seems that the bottom of the door also at -112, just like the outside area. The floor of the door sector - try to rise that to the same level as the room player stands in. If you had another button on the outside, and opened the door from there, you'd see what's happening. Don't get discouraged, though ;) these problems become much easier to deal with once you know what to look out for. Also, rather than video simply share your map as an attachment to the post. That way it's easier for us to figure out what may be going on. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
