How much of your day goes to Doom?

Playing, editing, thinking, anything Doom related. How much time do you dedicate to Doom and what is it you're doing?

 

For me it's usually 2-3 hours broken up into chunks throughout the day when I can.

 

Wether it's playing or editing depends on my mood. Sometimes I completely ignore my backlog of wads to play and only edit. Sometimes I get burnt out and just casually play a fight or two in Sunder.

I just recently had Doom Eternal gifted to me on Steam, so that's been the game I've been playing the most recently

I think about and meme doom alot. When ever i get the doom mapping bug i will spend all day working on the map or maps (depends on if it's for community projects). So i guess everyday...

Sometimes it can be no minutes, other times it can be hours especially if I am working on a map.

Depends, but I wouldn't say a lot. It can be a few hours, minutes, or none at all, which also includes time spent developing maps.

I've been playing through some of this year's and previous Cacoward entries as I try to assimilate myself more into the DOOM community. Just today I've spent about, 5-6 hours playing through stuff like Long Trek Back Home and DTWiD: The Lost Episodes (something I should've played sooner because I loved the DTWiD series)

Probably a lot more than is healthy. It's my special, and I'm active for only a few months. And my passion is mapping, not so much playing. Since I made the first public map, it's pretty much always on the back of my mind.  There's days I only think about it, and there's days I spend 2-12 hours actually creating stuff. We'll see how long before I go completely nuts lol

All in all, about 1hr or so. Doom (and WoW) aside I'm really not much of a gamer to be honest.

One thing that's also really cut into my Doom time is my 1 year old. When I do get my Doom time it's usually when she naps (which isn't often enough)

I usually spend a couple hours per day on Doomy things, as long as everything else important is taken care of! 2-3 days at a time go by every few weeks where I don't feel like doing Doom stuff, and I try not to do too much in one sitting either to avoid burnout.

I guess one could say Doom has invaded my life and has become a small obsession of mine. Usually I spend like a few hours (1-3) a day playing/watching videos/reading about some posts here in DW of upcoming cool stuff and checking out old stuff. By extension, I'm in a good handful of Doom related Discord servers, although usually it strays away from discussing Doom and has now branched off into other topics that gets talked about in those servers. There's only so much we can talk about Doom :P. I sometimes take breaks from the game overall b/c burnout and try to branch off a bit into other hobbies I'm picking up.

Not sure. Doom is 1/4th or 5th of the things I am doing. I might be coding things outside of Doom, like demos in retro or modern platforms, I might be watching podcasts on youtube while playing with my phone, or just searching things on the internet, or other gaming or moves. I do play more WADs though than editing maps (something I'd like to get more into), so there are period where I play 2-3 hours a day specific megawads, then I just stop playing for a period. If I check the time on ManicTime for GZDoom and divide, for the 4 years, it's almost 1 hour per day.

At the moment, an average of 3-4 hours on a near-daily basis.

 

Overall, it varies throughout the year. Too much so to give an estimate of any kind.
