After Hyrosphere i tried this one and now i dont know which one is better :D Maps are great, with OTEX they look very nice. Not to many enemies and its fun to play. Played with Project Brutality, finished in one hour and now waiting for next episodes. Great work 10/10.

Made an account to say thanks for making this wad! I loved the atmosphere and the use of otex. I prefer the style of these type wads over the tech themed ones.

Also, I play with a controller on the couch; so I appreciated the lower difficulty options. Too hard wads are not ideal for controller play. I'm looking forward to episode 2! Thanks again!

I am using GZDoom 4.10.0 and noticed that the end trigger of MAP06 doesn't work, it's a pain trigger instead. I have stood on it until my death because I thought that's what I had to do to end the level, but no. :( I am playing with the MBF compatibility setting turned on, so Idk what's going on here. Maybe I've missed something?

Does that Cyberdemon have anything to do with it?

I have tested this level with and without mods — same problem.

 

Either way, I have finished the WAD and can fairly say that it was a pleasant experience! I love open and colorful environments to fight in. Good job!

Supposedly you need MBF21 instead of MBF. The pain sector is a death-exit. I checked and it worked for me on correct complevel.

In GZDoom, there are "MBF" and "MBF (strict)" options. I chose the former because that's what @Bri instructed in the first post.

MBF compatiblity sets compat_nombf21 (Compatibility -> Map/Actor behavior -> Disable MBF21 features) to yes.

 

In old version, there was a W1 exit level there instead of MBF21 death exit sector, so MBF compat worked. Idk if this wad plays correcly on Default compat otherwise, but that's the only compat_mode that doesn't disable MBF21.

 

Run this with "+compat_mode 5 +compat_nombf21 0" in command line or manually change the latter option.

One of the Great WADS that took place before Cacowards 2022. I was pretty sure that WAD would get there. Good Design, Balanced Difficulty and it's just fun to play. It is not surprising that Doomguys paid attention to the Project.

Just beat it on UV pistol start and found it challenging and well-designed, with a lot of focus on fast-paced gameplay using the chaingun and shotgun. The architecture and lighting are handsome. Nice WAD

The link in OP seems to work fine for me. What are you using to open the RAR file? I have the latest version of 7-zip and it opens it without problems.
