sega gems midi

hey bros you know comixzone and other sega games with good midi tracks well it was probably made in gems

im looking for a gem style bass/guitar and whatnot midi soundfont

the sega soundfonts all sound pixley and synth like and not like the metal/rock midi instrumen sega midi from the days of yure

I mean, that's basically a YM2612. If you're using a port like GZDoom, you can just set the sound output to emulate an OPL chip, specifically the OPL2 (YM3812/YM2413) or the OPL3 (YMF262).

 

Won't be exact, but it'll be pretty close.

 

(Nerdy aside: GEMS did some good soundtracks, but I could name others that were way better that had nothing to do with GEMS. I would know. I ripped quite a few of them for Project2612.)

looking for sound font for vanilla weather if I have to record midi and convert into sound or not
