lazygecko Posted January 25, 2022 I can't find any coverage of this work on the entire forum so I felt obligated to make a thread about it. chillo (who previously released Blood Coagulated) has been working on giving every Doom sprite a 3D voxel makeover. Not just as flat Paper Mario-esque cutouts as you usually see with those kinds of efforts but with full depth covering every angle and the missing parts inbetween, including their respective animation frames. NightFright Posted January 25, 2022 Chillo already made a lot of amazing Quake models before, so I am actually not THAT surprised he is doing a great job in Doom as well. FreazyWarr Posted January 27, 2022 I've seen a few attempts at making 3D models for Doom and they always look slightly off because their definition tends to be too good compared to their environment. Voxels seem like the perfect solution to this. It's incredible how these models are almost indistinguishable from the 2D sprites when viewed at 90-degree angles. 6 Quote Share this post Link to post

(Oddly enough I love playing classic Doom in VR) That's what most excites me about this project tbh, classic Doom VR already feels like you're up close and personal with the demons and this pack is gonna amplify that that tenfold.
