philcul Posted January 31, 2022 As you all know there is a kind of safety measure when it comes to the rocket launcher and the BFG, so that you don't automatically shoot when choosing this weapon while holding the mouse button down. I just wanted to know if there is a way to turn this off. I'm using GzDoom 4.7 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
thiccyosh Posted January 31, 2022 (edited) Unless there is some obscure GZDoom option that I missed, there is no way to turn off the 'safety system' as it is hardcoded. A very small note: by that I mean in terms in disabling it without mods. You know? Vanilla stuffs. Edited January 31, 2022 by thiccyosh [INSERT FUNNY JOKE HERE] 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Xaser Posted January 31, 2022 You can, though it's a mod-side feature rather than a user option. In GZDoom the safety-lock is controlled by the WEAPON.NOAUTOFIRE flag -- remove it and it'll work nicely. MBF21 has an equivalent NOAUTOFIRE flag as well, if you want it to work in other ports too. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post

First of all, thank you very much! But given that I have no modding experience at all... how would I do that? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
BaileyTW Posted January 31, 2022 (edited) I think doing that would void the warranty Edited January 31, 2022 by BaileyTW 12 Quote Share this post Link to post
azerty Posted January 31, 2022 Here I made this. Just run it like you would with a normal mod and it should work fine. I know it's not the best way but at least it will work I hope it helps. rocketlauncher.zip 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Bridgeburner56 Posted February 1, 2022 I just triple click the bfg when I switch to it. Pretty good habit to be in (learned from mrzzul). 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

LadyMistDragon Posted February 2, 2022 No, the internal computer that runs the BFG keeps things running smoothly for at least a few hundred years. The UAC may have skimped on explosive restraints for the rocket launcher though. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
