Is there a way to turn the 'safety system' of the BFG and the rocket launcher off?

As you all know there is a kind of safety measure when it comes to the rocket launcher and the BFG, so that you don't automatically shoot when choosing this weapon while holding the mouse button down. I just wanted to know if there is a way to turn this off. I'm using GzDoom 4.7

Unless there is some obscure GZDoom option that I missed, there is no way to turn off the 'safety system' as it is hardcoded.

A very small note: by that I mean in terms in disabling it without mods. You know? Vanilla stuffs.

You can, though it's a mod-side feature rather than a user option. In GZDoom the safety-lock is controlled by the WEAPON.NOAUTOFIRE flag -- remove it and it'll work nicely.

MBF21 has an equivalent NOAUTOFIRE flag as well, if you want it to work in other ports too.

First of all, thank you very much! But given that I have no modding experience at all... how would I do that?

I think doing that would void the warranty

The rocket launcher and BFG9000 are just over 28 years old. The warrenty has probably long expired.

No, the internal computer that runs the BFG keeps things running smoothly for at least a few hundred years. The UAC may have skimped on explosive restraints for the rocket launcher though.
