BIOHAZARD

The titlepic (that white thing on Cyberdemon's chest is a white transparent sprite of a double chaingunner, who serves as one of the minibosses) will affect any custom wad's titlescreen, not just Doom 2's.

After being inspired by games such as Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil and No More Room in Hell, I decided to make a gameplay-changing modification that would force the players to fight through enemies that raise from the dead every time unless they are gibbed. It can be played both solo and in multiplayer (preferrably Survival Cooperative).

An unknown virus swept through every single place UAC got their claws on. No one knows what may it be - an escaped biological weapon, an ancient curse damning the whole human race or something even worse than that? Either way, you have to adapt to the new world... And stay one step ahead of plague victims. Rumors say they die, then wake up and go on a homicidal rampage.

Features:

1) Large bestiary of enemies, which consists of incredibly fast, fierce and persistent zombies. While there is one flying enemy that is NOT a zombie, it had been discovered that these flying demons are directly responsible for the whole outbreak.

2) Every player turns into a zombified marine upon dying. No matter how they die, no matter when they die, no matter what's left of them - when they die, they come back wrong. End of story. You have to put them down a second time. Which means dismembering them.

3) A wide arsenal of weapons, which includes two types of explosives, a WWII era machinegun, a hunting rifle and even a flamethrower!

4) The mod can be played on any map - it does not depend on a specific set of levels to be run properly.

5) A special camera which allows you to observe your own undead self walking around and gunning down other zombies... as well as your your teammates (looks pretty janky for now, can be improved later). It can be switched back to where your dead body was through the F12 key.

6) Custom music which will replace the classic soundtrack in order to make the experience more tense. In addition, several ambient sounds are also present to ramp up the suspence factor.

EPILEPSY WARNING: since the fifth feature may make the camera shake wildly and increase the movement pace, it's strongly advised for epileptic players to be extremely cautious while playing this mod or not play it altogether until further updates.

Possible bugs and errors: since this mod mostly operates on replacing monsters and some decorations with new enemies, expect them to get stuck in certain places or behave in strange ways. In addition, zombies are prone to falling down the pits and getting trapped.

EDIT: Recently we have found a bug that caused maps with scripts to be broken. The bug's been fixed.

Tested on Zandronum (single and multiplayer).

Special thanks to:

1) Realm667 for providing needed resources for both zombies and weapons alike.

2) Chasm: The Rift - for custom music.

3) Oblivion Lost Remake for ambient SFX.

Also special thanks to @SilverMiner for providing great aid during the mod development, which includes major script working, fixing balance issues and playtesting, as well as introducing new ideas.

UPDATE:

1) Dead bodies are replaced by dead zombies, though some of them are merely slumbering and may jump at you if you are not careful.

2) Zombie resurrecting goes much more smoothly, and standing on them mid-revival does not stop them from standing back up anymore.

3) The mod is finally compartible with GZDoom.

4) Added explosive ammo for Drummle and Hunting Rifle. In addition, the double-barrel shotgun has the chance to gib the enemies upon killing them.

5) Several other balance tweaks and changes.

Special thanks to Morthimer McMare (a.k.a. JSO x on iddqd.ru) for pointing the bugs out and helping out with fixing them.

The link is the same, though the file has been updated.
