Yeah, it's just Chrome being overly cautious because it is a non-secure (http://) link. Rather than left-click, right-click -> save link as... and you should get a warning, but an option to over-ride. I just downloaded it...

In October 1997 I purchased the Doom2 Deathmatch toolkit. A text file W.txt features wads that are not on the CD.

@esselfortium's holy grail. I read somewhere the DeHacked patch was so insane that it dwarfed Batman Doom's with ease.

There used to be a abandoned sourceforge page with almost all pre 0.7 builds which are not available on the github, only missing a single 0.6.3 build of the Ultimate Freedoom, I can't find the page anymore but I downloaded everything from it. FreeDooM pre-0.7 builds.7z

Holy shit, I'd love to retrieve even that much; if I recall rightly, only three maps were ever completed and most of them didn't use too many more assets than found in that first map anyway.

I recently discovered this thing on the idgames archive:

Basically, the author wanted to upload a deathmatch level that's set in a hotel, with the music "Hotel California" by The Eagles playing(odd coincidence with Doom 2 In Spain Only?). However, it seems that the author has forgot to actually put the level itself in the WAD, and only included the MIDI, resulting in the WAD being put in the Music category. The readme says "too much beer right before" at one point, maybe it's the reason.

 

The description of the WAD sounds interesting, even if it's probably your average sub-par 90s map. The email address is included, but the domain seems dead, which means a chance of a reply seems unlikely. A pity.

 

Since it seems unlikely that the email address will be a good lead, we can maybe hope the author is still around, lurking or browsing these forums. If that's the case, I encourage them to try and post the actual level.

Not quite. I was talking about how @haruko haruhara said older versions of AEoD were lost, and I have several older versions sitting on my drive - so I might be able to re-upload those somewhere and make them found again, if those are indeed lost versions of the mod. (They weren't specific about which ones were lost.)

 

I know full well where to get current AEoD. :P

Well, it's been a while, but I have a tough one.

 

 

This is a Skulltag mod that was being worked on by the late Ghastly all the way back in 2011. At least one release was made, but unfortunately I cannot locate it anywhere. I asked people close to Ghastly (Neural Stunner and Aerial) and neither of them happened to have a copy anymore. If anyone back then played it, and still has one, I would love to have it. Thank you.

Most certainly somebody already asked this question, but did anyone knows about Randy Estrella levels before working on Midway, that's truly a lost media wads!
