Werge Posted February 22, 2022 Hey everybody, I've recently installed Freedoom, Phases 1 and 2, and it works fine on ZDoom. Although, I downloaded Blashphemer and am having trouble getting it to work. I simply extracted all of the Blasphemer files into my ZDoom directory and it doesn't seem to have any .WAD files for ZDoom to detect. Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
lokbustam257 Posted February 22, 2022 (edited) ZDoom doesn't have a setting that automatically detected Blasphemer IIRC. If you want to run Blasphemer on ZDoom (and any other limit removing source port), you have to use a command line. 1. make a txt file in your ZDoom folder 2. Put this in that txt file: (assuming you have the latest version) zdoom.exe -iwad blasphem-0.1.7.wad 3. Save it and rename the file extension from txt to bat 4. Click the batch file you just created Alternatively, you can navigate through the cmd program on Windows to your ZDoom folder if you know how to do it and put the command line above. I tried doing this, and the bat file still only opens ZDoom with Blasphemer undetected. Sorry, what else can I do? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

xX_Lol6_Xx Posted February 22, 2022 Just now, Werge said: Alright, which .wad file? The blasphemer wad. It will trick the engine into believing it's Heretic. Spoiler You can also do it with FreeDoom too by renaming them to DOOM and DOOM2.WAD respectively for ports that don't recoginze it as IWAD 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
RagnarRandom Posted February 22, 2022 (edited) rename it blasphemer.wad instead of blasphem-0.1.7.wad (assuming you have the most recent release of blasphemer) you can have a blasphemer.wad and a heretic.wad in the same folder and zdoom should recognize em both. check your gzdoom-whateveryourossaysyournameis.ini there should be a line your ini that says [blasphemer.Autoload] your blasphemer wad just needs to have the right name for zdoom to autoload it and the github dl has it named as version name. just realized you said zdoom not gzdoom, so i don't know what i said applies or not. i think the only difference is opengl, so it should. not sure why anyone would use zdoom over gzdoom. From the downloads page of ZDoom.org Quote GZDoom is the latest version targeting current systems with modern graphics hardware. (Vulkan/OpenGL 4.5 capability recommended, but the minimum requirement for the hardware renderer is OpenGL 3.3, the minimum for the software renderer is Direct3D 9 LZDoom is based on an older version of GZDoom. It does not provide all features currently supported by GZDoom but in turn is capable of running the hardware renderer on older hardware which does not support modern OpenGL features. Maybe his PC doesn't meet the requirements for either GZ or LZDoom, or simply cuz he likes ZDoom more 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
kalensar Posted March 9, 2022 I loaded Blasphemer into ZDoom via ZDL. Works fine. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
