what happens if the time goes off in the super gore nest level?

I was collecting my missed secrets in doom eternal when I was about to end the super gore nest level and the timer to get out started. since I had some time I wanted to see what happened

 

spoiler, you just die. that's it. kinda anticlimactic, but ok. I mostly suspected that considering id would have had to pay for more resources to make a separate ending.

Tried it myself back then and yes, really anticlimatic :)

It would have been way funnier if it played the normal end sequence then cut to game over screen.

When playing in Extra Life mode, it is game over regardless of how many lives you have.
