Hi Arlene, I'm a person who likes designing custom maps, especially the extremely long ones. I've been doing that stuff for years now.

hey did you release any of them?

Not that new, since my account is over 1 year old, but I'll still introduce myself to New Members here!

Hello, I am Chip! I am a console Doom Player on PS4. I usually only play the older Doom games and have only attempted DOOM 2016 out of the Newfangled Doom games. Despite only playing on console, I am still pretty good on my DOOM community trivia by reading the Forums, Doom Wiki entries, and watching Youtube playthroughs. I am a huge DOOM Comic enthusiast, and even uncovered a lost official comic from 2010. I have my own DOOM Comic site (which you can find in my bio) made on Google Sites. I have contributed to some (I think 2) earlier issues of the Doom Master Wadazine. I also LOVE DOOM 64. I've played every WAD added to the DOOM Unity Port so far.

Hey guys, I'm a disembodied floating Canadian skull who enjoys long walks on the beach, making Doom/Doom II/Heretic/HeXen wads, and riding my motorcycle. I've been playing Doom since it first came out in 1993 (still have the shareware box I got from a computer store in the mall), and got into mapping using DEU back in the mid/late 90s. My attention went elsewhere with fully 3d games like Half-Life, etc, but I decided to get back into Doom mapping last month, so here I am!

I've been here over twenty years, long enough to have a page on the Doom wiki. Its all under my deadname, but I don't really feel like admitting I made those terrible WADs anyway. I'm a Pacific Northwester, roleplayer, writer, socialist, trans, and sufferer of chronic depression. That last bit was even a meme back in the day, ask your Doomer parents.

I've mostly lurked since around 1999. I haven't made many mods you could consider new, just a hell of a lot of music.

I'm Ragu, I've lived many long-forgotten lives online and otherwise, but more importantly I've been playing Doom since it was released. I've had Doom phases for a month or two variously throughout the years, and it's always been an important game to me, but I didn't really get into Doom as a way of life until last year, when watching guys like Civvie reignited my appreciation for old shootfellas.  I had only actually finished the 3 original episodes of Doom 1 in their entirety prior to this year when I played through the whole of Doom 2, along with TNT and Plutonia and a shitload of PWADs from the 90s. I've learned the joy of pistol starting, finally stopped panicking when I'm faced with Revenants and Archies (or at least not as much, usually), and almost feel like I've graduated to a Doom Journeyman after all these years.

I am Doom Dragon; I have lurked in this forum for a while, but I decided to make an account more recently. I enjoy many things, and doom is one of them.

Technically, I'm a newbie to doom as a whole, mainly since I got into doom around 2014.

I have also transitioned recently; 2021 may be a terrible year, but I will try to find joy during these troubling times.

I got my start with Wolfenstein 3d. My first copy of DOOM was a 5x7 inch floppy disc, that was within 2 years of the game first coming out.

DOOM 2 was my first CD-ROM game. I got back into playing classic DOOM in about 2016. I've been floored by how many kick @55 projects have been completed and are still being made. It's been awesome to see that the fandom is healthier and bigger than ever. I'm pretty addicted. I play a couple levels out of several different projects just about every day lately, I get itchy if I don't do it. That's probably not a great sign but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Well I've been here about a year, but I'll drop a 'hi' here nonetheless!

Hello! I am an aspiring voice actress and game dev. I like to make visual novels and RPGs, and am starting to learn how to make DOOM wads. Whilst I was way too young to have played DOOM when it first came out (I was born in '92 so you do the math lol), I first got to play it when I was around 8-ish years old. The game initially scared me to be honest yet I played it anyway, and surprisingly never had DOOM-related nightmares (my nightmares usually consisted of tornadoes or fires or slow-motion running instead lol). Now I really want to make my own wads, because map-making looks really fun and there's so many cool features you can add to DOOM now. But I'll probably begin simple. I still have a NaNoWADMo project with my brother from last year I need to finish, only have 1 map of it done but hopefully I can release something once I finish my regular projects so I'm not so overwhelmed.

I'm not 100% new but this "fandom bio" trip seems fun so I'll throw in my 0.02.

I've been a shooter fan since early childhood with Wolf3D and Blake Stone, then did the Doom/Quake/Quake 2 progression thru the 90s... played Counter-Strike competitively in high school and many years later my shooter taste is toward satisfying singleplayer and co-op experiences.

These days my SP Doom preferences are Brutal Doom of UDoom-Doom2-TNT-Plutonia, and Doom Eternal when I'm in the mood for that. For co-op with friends I like Halo Masfer Chief Collection and Far Cry 5, both on PC. Also I buy every Call of Duty at launch and only play the SP and the co-op bits, judge me if you want. XD

Incidentally, I find the first two levels of Thy Flesh Consumed on Brutal Doom Ultra Violence to be an absolute bastard every time.

Ok. Been a while on this forum but I'll bite the bait.

I'm 36-year old man who's been playing Doom since 1997 when I found the SNES version of that game and didn't stopped. PSX version opened my eyes even more due of the change of atmosphere alone.

I made maps, starting in 2016...some good ones, others that were made fast enough. Currently holding a Youtube channel to upload videos and have a stable job so far.

I know of this forum waaaaay before I finally signed up 4 years ago.

i've been on this site for almost a year now, i've just never posted. i'm StaticSquidd, i've been playing Doom since 2019 (so i'm somewhat of a newbie lol), and at the moment, Doom is my favorite game series. i also make videos on YouTube, and although they aren't the greatest, I made videos about Doom 1 and 2. the Doom community is probably the most welcoming and nicest community i have seen, surprisingly for a game like it. i do hope to be more active here as the days go on.

I just have 2 questions...

how can a floating skull ride a motorcycle and do you know Murray... the demonic skull?

I've heard good things about this forum for a while now, so I decided to sign up. I also like doom, not a very big surprise, but when I see it as my second most favorite game of all time, of course I'm going to try to get involved with the community in some way. It also gives me more of an incentive not to use reddit as much lol.

Other then that, I hope we can get to know each other well; and also discuss interesting things about doom.

Hello everyone!

Joined up early 2020 when I decided to learn how to make classic Doom maps whilst waiting for Doom Eternal to come out.  Since then I've released one project on the idgames archive & am currently working on a submission for a community project.

I got my Doom start back in the mid 90s with the good old shareware release of Knee Deep in the Dead.  Not long after we got our first family computer I'd find myself in possession of the 5 floppy disks that housed Doom 2 : Hell on Earth.  Despite knowing of Doom since it's beginnings I only became aware of the community's contributions much more recently and it's been quite a ride perusing all the interesting maps & mods that have been released over almost 3 decades now & I'm looking forward to trying even more & producing more of my own maps!  ^_^

Hello, I'm a game fan who has just signed up here. I'm just a game player though with no expertise on game development and just looking for great Doom stuff to play. I'm very impressed with the content on the site and I plan to play a lot of the content for download here. The Doom levels look amazing, some great stuff indeed. I hope that's not a problem to anyone and I hope your games play as good as they look in the pictures. Good luck.

Hi there. European doomster that got into classic doom relatively recently, having only played doom 3 before and having loved it for its space-stationy feel and great detailed environment. I remember when let's-playing doom 3 on youtube was the thing back in 2006. Anyway, although I'm not overly into old-school style games (that is to say not obsessed in the way some of yous seem to be), I do think classic FPS movement is much superior to modern "realistic" movement of gta 5 and the likes - I prefer my mouse and my character to move at the same time without much artificial inertia. It's sad that early 90s games respect the player, but also the keyboard and mouse as input methods so much more than these consolized cinematic borefests of nowadays. I'm not into modding, but do aspire to one day make my own games and have many ideas as to where to go with them.

I mostly created this account to finally partake in a classic forum again where I have an avatar and a linear structure to the thread - can't believe they still exist.

Hi Everyone. My name's Alex, I'm from the US and I've been playing Doom since 1994. I've always been a rather introverted person but I feel like if I were to socialize with anyone, it may as well be with fellow Doom fans. I work as a computer systems engineer for an ISP (don't ask which one, I'm not telling you. That's like saying you work for the IRS or you're a landlord haha) and in my free time, I build custom gaming rigs (modern and oldschool), rescue and refurbish vintage computers (anything dusty and beige is my jam), play Doom and dabble in programming some older languages. Nice to meet you all.

Because you mentioned it, I have a bunch of old hardware (several of them in beige, several of them with Zip drives - remember them?) gathering dust. I am planning on checking local computer repair stores to see if they'd be interested in cannibalizing any useful parts. Otherwise, I'll take them to the electronics recycling center that is part of the local landfill.

On topic: I've been interested in DooM since it came out in 1993. But I'm a lazy f*ck that occasionally gets flashes of inspiration. Outside of that, I am part of a marauding band of Mongol horsemen.

Probably should have done this a while ago, but anyways -

Relatively new to Doom speedrunning, picked up the unity port early February, and immediately decided to learn the first few levels and run them. Started running source in early July. Got into making TASes recently as well, so that’s neat (thanks for getting me into that mess Matt).

Well, I'm still pretty new, so I might as well bump this.

Hi all, I'm Dusty, I'm new to Doomworld, but not to Doom. Recently I've been mapping, so far I've joined too many Community Projects haha. Welcome to anyone newer than me.

I've been putting this off for a while thanks to some social anxiety

Hello everyone! I'm LoreCaco37, I got into DOOM in high school because a friend told me it was a good game and that websites with DOS emulators weren't blocked by the school internet security system. I fell in love with the game and decided to give map making a try over the pandemic due to a megawad concept that was floating around in my head and the hobby stuck.
