Nothing cool to say, i just really love doom and play it.

Came from UT and Quake school, and i friend of mine told me about this game. Well i started, and got hooked.

I guess I'd introduce myself, I'm Pepper. I'm 21 years old, been dooming since I was 3/4 (i usually go with 4 since I remember Dooming at that age the most) I do plan to start mapping (and maybe making custom midis too) eventually (it's just a bit of a beast in and of itself and like Art, I'm afraid of being stuck in that "this is shit" mindspace as i grind it out and start to get better at it xd

International Doom and Woof for General Play
GZDoom for Mods + fucking about
prBoom+ for Boom stuff

outside of Doom I enjoy FPS, RPG and RTS games, Horror Media, Music (Rock, Metal, Electronic and Hip-Hop mostly) and Cooking, I'm also interested in History, Culture, and Foraging.

As for my tenure in the shooter space, I've always been into them but around 2019/2020 I got into the Retro FPS revival Scene, I owe thanks to classics like Doom, Wolf3D and Quake I + 2 for introducing me to gaming when I was a kid (along with Chameleon Twist 2 and my dad's copy of South Park Rally on the N64) and for F.E.A.R, Quake 4, Doom 3 and a few others for solidifying my love for Shooters.

80s B-Movies are great. I love the attempt at having more there than there actually was. I also love shitty B-Movies and riffs on em. Mystery Science Theater 3000 and RiffTrax are 2 things that made me really enjoy it tbh.

My goofy ADHD brain prevents me from making maps, but not wads (probably because making maps takes longer to do). I also like Vanilla or Vanilla-ish things (and yes, that also applies to Ice Cream. I can't help myself).

 

I also technically joined DOOMworld 2 years ago, but I never touched it again after it's creation until now.

I'm K.C. Laz, a 24yo composer/musician! Outside of that I'm not too interesting, hobbies include gaming, hanging out with friends, doodling, a teeny bit of animating. I love collecting (and working with) vintage audio equipment and video game consoles though!

 

It's also pretty much a dream to have my music used in a lot of wads! I do have a fair bit of experience in composing, a little over a decade now, but I haven't worked with the specific sequencer I'm using now, Sekaiju. I like the experience of learning something completely new so far!

 

Anyway, that's my wall of text, thank you all so much for having me, and I hope to meet a lot of fine folk!

Signed up due to the hype from myhouse.wad (surprise!). Though I've been playing Doom my whole life. Growing up I never got into the modding part because I just assumed you had to be born as a tech whiz to get into that kind of stuff, but now I learned it just takes time and patience so I've been thinking of "mod ideas", and once I got sucked into the myhouse.wad phenomena, I was inspired enough to join. 

 

Currently trying to teach myself how to create a video game from scratch, and if my ADHD/life allows it, try to sneak in some Doom maps as well

so yeah hi, i'm thomasthetankengine. No, I don't like thomas the tank engine anymore, i'm not 4 years old.
Recently, making maps for DOOM has popped in my mind because of, well, some random guy's house. I'm currently studying how to make maps, and I think I'll edit things with SLADE. Anyways, I made a doomworld account so I could share my WADS here. Yippe!

Hey all --

I started out with Doom modding way back in the 90's, which got me pretty trenched with idTech modding all the way up to Quake 3. This involvment with modding landed me my first job in the games industry. Haven't touched a mod tool since. This changed radically 2 days ago when I stumbled upon the myhouse.wad, and was immediately inspired to get back into Doom modding. I have this project me and a friend started 25 years ago (he ain't dead though). Seems like I need to finish it.

 

I am happy to see all this enthusiasm and creativity around Doom. Amazing.
