I prefer Snipping Tool because it can screenshot only part of the screen. Also PrtScr doesn't save the screenshot, it copies it to clipboard, which is inconvenient to deal with.

I know. I just like having it on my iPad, which I use the most. And I’m not professional at all. I don’t take my own stuff too seriously unless it’s a college project

Lol it is under her username after all. By the way, what are those titles under our names? I noticed I just got the title “Warming Up.” I’d suppose it’s a rank thing, but that doesn’t explain the custom titles.

No paintings here haha. But I do have concepts. Though, I’ve deviated a bit, especially with the scalings. I got used to just doing it, so I don’t see myself making anymore blueprints. But I will definitely make a bunch of concepts for all the doomcute 2D sprites and poly objects.

Hi everybody! I recently scraped together the money to buy the doom classic bundle. (Rent is hard lol) So I thought I'd join doomworld to meet more people in the doom community and eventually start modding. I'm 20, female (I know, "an actual WOMAN?! Impossible!" Lol) and I've been playing video games since I was 7. Feel free to message me if you want to get to know me better. I may take a bit to respond because I have work but I promise I'll get back to you by the end of the night.

Anyway yeah you can customize your title in your profile somewhere. I don't recall cos my memory is ass, sorry :P But yeah the default titles change over time based on how long you've been a member I think?

Hahaha when I first started out my map I actually wrote a “grocery list of things to build” in linedefs. Then I switched to 3D view mode and uh—quickly learned that it’s much more efficient to just take physical notes.

Man, ROOM, I remember when that wasn't just wave-based  Brutal DOOM. The days of being an actual attempt at porting the original to Roblox. Where did the times go?

No way! If you read my intro post, that’s one of the ways that lead me to DOOM. This isn’t the help thread, if that’s what you were looking for. But I can tell you what’s up. Your options are this: buy it from steam or get the shareware version, which is just the first episode. Or get Freedoom, a fanmade version of DOOM that’s well—free. In ROOM, the player bar is actually the Freedoom guy. Any other method for getting full DOOM other than purchasing is piracy.

I wish someone would just pop in and fix the lighting on the first arena. Way too dark and hurts my eyes. Flashing lights in actual DOOM get to me too. Wanna defeat me? Don’t go for demons or monsters. Grab a flashlight and shove it in my face.

Hello, and welcome to DOOMworld! I'm also pretty new here myself, though I made this account a LOOOONG time ago, I never actually used it until recently @~@. It's really nice to have some diversity in DOOM's player base, especially when it's the most least expected audience. Hope you have fun with with DOOM, and don't forget to check out all the community map packs and mods this community has to offer. There's some real diamonds in the rough ^w^.

Your best bet is FreeDoom which is the equivalent of Doom I and II, and as a result you can play through its levels and also mods in the community. It is not entirely Doom and wads that rely inherently on its inbuilt textures will show some oddities. However it will wade you over until you are able to afford Doom. There are thousands of wads to try if you don't like the levels of FreeDoom, check the Cacowards and if you want some randomly generated levels try Obsidian.

Doom music can be utilized in the standard mp3 or ogg or somesuch (generally opus now due to its compression algorithm enabling better wad sizes) but it also utilizes midis with an internal midi player built into the Doom source port. A general tool that is usually suggested is Sekaiju from the OpenMIDIProject.

A .wad is usually for maps and can be made utilizing a doom map builder, which tends to be mostly Ultimate Doom Builder or Doom Builder X. Some tutorials on YouTube can help make this more bearable to learn and there are some tutorials on this forum that can help too.

Yes. Phase I can run Doom 1 wads. Phase II can run Doom II wads.
