Nikku4211 Posted March 3, 2022 So are people going to be default dancing on Bandcamp now? Imagine Bandcamp in 2097... 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I doubt there will ever be actual releases of those soundtracks since they are so old, but you can easily download the module files of these soundtracks on the Internet and play them back in any program that plays S3M and IT files. There's been rips of the first game's soundtrack and the composer of JJ2 gave away all of the module files on a fan site for free. Also riding hard on the "please don't fuck things up Epic" bandwagon right now concerning the purchase of Bandcamp. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

Goat-Avenger Posted March 4, 2022 (edited) Give it time and they will screw everyone over. There will be a backend overhaul and a frontend overhaul. It will be worse for everyone, except Epic Games; and the consumer, with little choice, will just have to eat it. Edited March 4, 2022 by Goat-Avenger 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Bruh that's just almost every website and logo on the face of the earth. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Somniac Posted March 4, 2022 Cant say I've heard of a video game company buying out a music platform before...what's their reasoning, outside the obviously financial? Either way, this is quite lame. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
heliumlamb Posted March 4, 2022 cant wait for the opportunity to buy HNW cassettes through the fortnite megagames store. making his engine free to use to a point for most has probably limited sweeny's supply of burger king, so something had to be done about the matter. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Ex:Transistor, CrossCode, Cosmic Star Heroine, Fight'N Rage, The Darkside Detective, Valdis Story,... Edited March 5, 2022 by CrocMagnum 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Average Posted March 5, 2022 Can't big business just leave something alone? Corporate's gonna corporate, I suppose. Also, fuck capitalism. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Well I guess it’s good for him. Maybe I could pay him a visit in his old billionaire residence. Edited March 12, 2022 by luke11685 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Bucket Posted November 13, 2023 https://www.wired.com/story/epic-games-sale-bandcamp-music-platform-limbo/ So Bandcamp was sold as quickly as it was bought. Lots of BC employees are surprised to learn they weren't offered their jobs back. Even though Songtradr isn't a publicly traded company (yet) and Bandcamp is unionized, this isn't great news. I've been looking into alternatives to Bandcamp but most articles only cover the consumer side, not artists. Apparently it's possible to sell music on itch.io, even if it isn't a game soundtrack, but I have no experience with the site beyond a few purchases. Any ideas? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Sokoro Posted November 14, 2023 It is fault of the Bandcamp for selling themselves! Rich people or companies can not buy you out, if you refuse to sell. The problem is most people do not care about the world or their work, that much, and sell their beliefs and ideas for loadsofmoney. Easily manipulated. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

What if I'd give you a million dollars for your freshly made Doom wad? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
