Tested with: Crispy Doom, Doom Retro and GZDoom.
Deathmatch: Yes
Co-op: Yes
Known bugs: None that I know of.
MIDI: Chasing the Dragon by Tristan Clark.

ok so I've added MAP05 by ENDLESS to the new basewad (now at version 2.2).  I'm going to get started now on the custom DOS executable with hardcoded levelnames, inter-text and episode text.  I've already half done the MAPINFO lump for this too.

 

Since there is roughly just over a month left.  I'm starting to put the finishing touches on it.

 

NOTE: If there are still maps unfinished / not submitted by JUNE 10th, I will re-open those slots to whoever wants them.  Since this project 'WILL' be finished by the deadline and not a second later.

Oh man that sounds awesome! Is there a way to make sure it won't launch if it doesn't if the PWAD isn't in the directory? It'd be neat to not even have to write a .bat or type in "-file" every time.

There is and I will simply hardcode -file to be used as default and 'only' against the pandora.wad file.  Additionally, I'll disable the iwad parameter and hardcode it to DOOM2.WAD.

Did i remember wrong or @Large Cat didn't made already a map for this project and posted here? Something slightly Plutonia themed?

 

Also, why MAP13 isn't in the main map set as well?

map13 isn't done..  is it?  I've been watching closely and I have not noticed MAP13 being commented and submitted.  Usually I look for quotes or a mention so I get notified.

@Gibbon It looks like my MAP23 hasn't made it into the base wad or completed maplist. Is there something I need to do with or change about my submission before it's ready to go in, or is this just an oversight? If you need the map, my post is here.

Yeah, once it is not a beta anymore, then it will be included.  Seems a lot of the missing maps was because I missed them due to no mentioning of me, so it ended up getting lost in the comments :)

 

MAP23 is now added and the basewad is updated

Maybe. I haven't felt too motivated to do any mapping at all and I honestly haven't even started, but I have had several ideas for my map since I last replied, and given that the maps don't need to have the highest of quality, making a map in two weeks shouldn't be hard at all.

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to fix up my map or not, there are some balancing issues and door fighting things that would be nice to fix but I wasn't sure if that goes against the shareware vibe or not. Fixing it up will give me something to do on my breaks though, so I'll give it a go.

In the early days of this project I decided to take the opportunity and get my brother to build a map for this. It turned out boring as hell, typical 90s and nothing special (I certainly can't doubt that he's as creative as I am, he just hasn't gotten past the energy barrier for Doom mapping to become his hobby that would get him out of a lot of bad habits). So he didn't get hooked by Doom, dropped the map, and I've been trying to continue growing his piece of sectors, but irl stuff told me that there were projects that needed more attention. In general, I used to work quite long on this kind of maps to stuff them with loads of technically cool vanilla stuff. Maybe by August I could make a finishable version.

That's fine, the deadline is July 1st so August wouldn't be possible.

Ok, maybe I might make it before that date, but we still have a significant number of people who should cook something by the time as well. So I think the deadline might likely have to be extended :)

Hey,don't worry my map will totally be done by June 15th. I made the main layout back when i first joined,i'am a little busy with my own projectcurrently,but the map will still be made in time.

@Gibbon Hopefully the bug should be fixed now, a door wasn't working so I just replaced the door with a walk over action at a different point. Sorry for the delay. New fixed file here: NEVERMIND

 

So I came back this morning to do a final test of everything and found a few small bugs, like archviles being able to open the door to their enclosure, so I fixed those and the new file is here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1G3lMfUKpk_v-Xx-ooW2VNHxGbqRG9aqV/view?usp=sharing

 

I'm really bad at names but I figure the map needs a name of some variety, so I'm going to call this The Long Forgotten Abyss (idk if I'm being too critical of it but the name seems a tad cringy. oh well.)
