galileo31dos01 Posted September 16, 2022 Hello, I'd like to report some inconveniences I experienced during my whole playthrough. This was on pistol starts, UV, crispy-doom. Map 22 - Sector 132 is missing a tag 23 to respond to the switch line 1086 properly in crispy/vanilla/cl2. As of now, using that trigger breaks the whole map, since every sector that has no tags (ergo, tag 0) will move and leave tons of undesired HOMs and whatnot. - Similar deal but with sector 376, shooting the wall causes horrible things. - Additionally, I noticed the monsters in the closet outside of the map never wake up because they can't hear me from any room, so there needs to be a sound tunnel or something. - The pain elemental -thing 235- can't become free because sector 301 has no tags (actually it does get released with the current state of the map, but if the first two issues were to be fixed then the poor thing would remain locked forever). - This may not be game-breaking but it's equally worth revising imo: I'd like to suggest... no, REQUEST swapping all hanging bodies in playable space to non-blocking variants, because they can be a huge nuisance when you get stuck on their invisible aura while stuff is harassing you. I get that this could be a "quirk", but judging by the other issues I think this is one more of those things that go unnoticed using gzdoom for testing. Map 33 - The door that is sector 30 can't be opened because of wrong floor and ceiling values - should be 0-0 instead, otherwise you can't reach the exit. - There're lots of closets with archviles and one with chaingunners that don't open at all. In the case of the archviles their hitboxes are overlapping the sectors that are supposed to move, causing them to not operate properly. Also wrong floor/ceiling values. As for the chaingunners, well, yeah... Map 28 - Well, I only wanna know if getting to the exit alive is possible or not. I could never get past the room of chaingunners, arachnotrons, mancubi and archviles, whether I got there with 200/200 and tried different ways. It occurs to me that the "most affordable" way would be by bullrushing the chaingunners with rockets (assuming you didn't waste too many before) and pray nothing else sap over half of your HP so you don't end up dying to hitscan later. If so, well that's not too great, but it would be nice to know what is one supposed to do there... That's all I think. Thanks for making such an enjoyable wad! But this was meant to emulate shovelware, so idk how much of that can and should be fixed. Couldn't someone involved in the project mention these issues to them? I don't have an account there, and I'm not sure I want to create one just for this.... Besides, afaik one of the rules stated in the OP claims that every map should be finnishable without cheats, so that wouldn't mean that leaving two maps unplayable in vanilla is fair to the wad, regardless of "emulating shovelware". 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
