Solved - Bad Lighting of Animated MD3 Models

Moebius

Question

1.  Now that I've learned how to animate 3D models to use in Doom 2, I'm seeing an issue with how they are lit.  Badly, it seems.  If I put the animated MD3 model/actor in the map it's very dark compared to if I put in the individual 3D model/actors.  They are illuminated exactly as expected.

2.  Anyone else using 3D models in Doom 2?

3.  Anyone else using animated 3D models?

4.  Anyone else having the same lighting issue with animated 3D models?

5.  My MAP is rather large.  I'll make a little map and attached it.

After many hours I have determined that the issue is not with anything in Doom 2 or UDB.  It seems I did something different in Blender that resulted in a "bad" export of the animated MD3 model.  Using Maverick I re-applied all of the textures and the animated 3D model is now lit as desired.  Of five animated 3D models, three exported "bad" from Blender, while two were fine.  After "fixing" the other three they all re-open in Maverick with the diffuse textures assigned, except for the one that started all of this.  That model is working in my MAP, though.
