Chocolate Doom Won't Launch On Windows 8.1

Hello guys! it seems like that i want to use a mod called ROOM, but it does not work with lzdoom, but as i've seen it requires chocolate doom, but when i launch it, i hear the doom startup music, and then it crashes, just a bit of the music, also it says "BEX", what does that even mean? bexen?, please help me i just want to play that wad and its deh file

Without a crash message, we can't offer any explanation. Chocolate Doom runs fine on windows 8.1, so your problem is related to something else you've yet to identify.

Ahh, in this case he's not talking about BEX, the Boom Extension. He's talking about a Buffer Overflow Exception.

 

That said, are you entering the commandline entries right?

-iwad doom2.wad -merge room.wad -deh room.deh

You could just answer what @Dark Pulsewas asking for verification or use the search before making a thread.

 

The latter is something you can do on your own and the former is just rude to ignore.

 

Given Crispy works i suspect an internal limit or a system issue.

yes i did, also even if i run it without the -merge and -deh it wont launch the vanilla wad. i suspect that its trying opengl but it failed.
