How do i extract guns from a WAD?

CoolerDoomeR

Question

Hi there, i'm new to doom editing/modding, so i need help to extract weapons from "Country Cide" doom mod and then turn it to a .pk3 or .wad file to play it with other wads, i saw some older topics in doomworld and some youtube videos also, but i can't do that.

So as i said if anyone can guide me to extract weapons from "Country Cide" and then turn it to a .pk3 or .wad file to play it with other wads, please leave a reply :)

Also there is a topic in Doom editing but i created another here because i feel it's in a wrong thread.

I've just read the other post and downloaded the wad to check it out.

Honestly, I think it's better if you try to recreate those weapons yourself, cause it looks like everything in there in very well "packaged" and it's very hard to try to extract something specific.

If you want to try though, you will definitely need to find a ZSCRIPT with the weapons classes (I think they are in the weapons folder in .zs format) and the projectiles classes (if not in the same files) with their relative puffs/particles/whatever.

Then you have to extract their sprites, all of them, their sounds and SNDINFO and GLDEFS if they have it.

But you'll need to check if they're part of some other script/code somewhere else, if they need some other file to work properly or if you need to change something in their code.

Hi, thank you for your guide!
