Running RT PRBOOM + Brutal Doom Possible?

Hi everyone, I'm trying to get the latest RT PRBOOM to work with Brutal Doom, I can run PRBOOM no problem following the instruction here:

But, if I try to use prboom-plus.exe as the source port in ZDL (3.2.2.2)

 

It presents this error and CTD:

I'm not sure if it's an external file in ZDL that is causing the conflict or if there is some fundamental incompatibility between the source port, here's how ZDL is currently configured:

I ran a search engine query on this before creating this post and came back with nothing. Any help greatly appreciated!

No.

 

Brutal doom is a GZDoom exclusive mod, and prboom is pretty much only vanilla. Brutal Doom's spaghetti code would mix with ray tracing like oil and water, anyways

its not possible but you can try this alternative for brutal doom

and the fact that the alternative is vanilla would fix whatever theoretical problem there may have been

Unfortunately, neither ZScript nor Decorate is supported by boom forks. It would be easier for a Cyberdemon to fit through the eye of a needle than this to happen.

Thanks for the replies everyone, the RT is pretty but Brutal Doom is just so much fun. I will probably run around a bit more in RT doom though, it is impressive.

I'm used to this happening every time there's a new mod for DooM that gets the attention of people that usually don't play DooM, but the fact that the OP tried to play two things that have nothing in common and expected it to work really done it for me.

Brutal Doom does that to you.

 

Nothing else exists besides that. Its kinda sad that all the other great mods and content usually get ignored for this and Project Brutality.

Brutal Doom only runs in the ZDoom family of ports, which PrBoom+ and its forks don't belong to.

If someone decides to make a DEHACKED-based version of Brutal Doom for PrBoom, maybe using DEHEXTRA/MBF21/whatever, I want them to call it "Prutal Boom+".

The problem would be finding someone to do that because people that use PrBoom+ just don't care about Brootal Dewn when there's a lot of stuff that is far more interesting.
