SLADE3 Sprite Rendering Issue.

Question

Hello, i have been looking into making some changes to doom assets, but when i boot up slade the textures do not appear, what have i done wrong? :

what version of slade are you using? is it fully updated and is it running in wine? give us some more details ec538b5c_Thonk.png

Windows here, latest version 3.2.2, of course not in wine.

A few questions:

What map format do you map for?

 

The title refers to sprite rendering, but in the first post you mention textures, which is it?

 

Sprites go between S_ markers (S_START - S_END).

 

Textures depend on the map format:

original Doom uses patches to make textures (Texture1/2 - PNAMES)

ports like GZDoom use TX_ markers (TX_START - TX_END).

 

Do you use new names for the edited assets?

What i mean is that when i view a sprite in slade it shows up as nothing, even when browsing an iwad.

This looks like a typical OpenGL compatibility issue. What is your GPU?

oh i understand, i have opengl 3.0 so it does not render, is there a version of slade that has opengl 2.x?

No, you'll need to meet Slades requirements instead. Update your video drivers if you are able.

You could try an older version of Slade or perhaps the really old SlumpED or Deepsea or the dreaded XWE.
