The self-proclaimed 'country' in which I was born was never officially recognised as such by any nation.

 

We left there in the mid 70s and went to the UK.  Then we left there in the mid 80s to move to Australia.  Other than one period of 15 months in Boston for work (2004-2005), I've lived in Australia ever since.

I was privileged to have been born in the US and have enjoyed all that entails for a fair number of decades now. We have our problems, like an abhorrent political class that needs to be removed and zealous ideologues who want to impose their "utopia" on others by force but those are fairly common issues everywhere.
