sandwedge Posted May 4, 2022 (edited) Personally I prefer mine powered by crabs, but to each Doomer their own. No you have not, and you should hang your head in shame, log out of this site and not return until you have. Slightly more seriously, I do not understand the question. There are four episodes in the game as you have it so obviously no, you have not. Practice and get better, or drop the difficulty. Simple. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Nikku4211 Posted May 4, 2022 You beat Doom. The answer would only be 'no' if you asked if you have 'technically' beaten the Ultimate Doom, but no, you beat regular registered Doom. There's a difference between 100%ing a game and beating it. Doom isn't a collect-a-thon is it? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Sarmenti Posted May 4, 2022 Asking if you've beaten doom is a bit of a silly question, way I see it if you got to the end of the episode you've beaten it. Doesn't matter if it was on ITYTD single segment with saves, still counts! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Egg Boy Posted May 5, 2022 We can never truly "beat Doom." To beat Doom would be to experience all it has to offer. The breadth of content produced within the game is staggering enough to be incompletable within your life's allotted time. And then there is everything Doom has wrought. Have you truly beaten Doom if you haven't beaten Quake? Halo? Call of Duty? The answer is... maybe, idk I think I stole this from the Action Button video. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Cruduxy Pegg Posted May 5, 2022 No you can only beat the game by defeating John Romero in deathmatch. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
BigBoy91 Posted May 6, 2022 You beat Doom, but not Ultimate Doom. Next question. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Sleep Deprivation Posted May 6, 2022 You haven't completed DOOM until you've played DOOM64 on original hardware in one sitting. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
ImproversGaming Posted May 6, 2022 Not that my opinion carries much validation for you but I considered you to have completed Doom - well done! In terms of Episode 4 (Ultimate Doom) I recommend that you stick with it and work your way through anyway. As others have said feel free to use saves or reduce the difficulty level to ease the burden - this is why they are there, to allow customisation to the player. If it helps I find that Maps get a lot easier once you play them a few times - when you figure out where the good weapons are and figure out where the enemies come from. Good luck if you take it on. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted May 6, 2022 You've only beaten Doom once you have completed all maps from Ultimate Doom, Doom II, Final Doom, the Master Levels... ... ... ... ... and Maximum Doom. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
zxd Posted May 6, 2022 Yes you've beaten doom. Btw there is no shame by playing on HMP... Just have fun the way you want. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Solmyr Posted May 6, 2022 (edited) You haven't beaten Doom, you need to get an original physical copy of Doom with the box and all of its contents in mint condition, then get a spiked brass knuckle and punch it. That's the proper way to beat Doom. Edited May 6, 2022 by Solmyr 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Scrabbs Posted May 9, 2022 Pretty much, episode 4 and 5 came later and are WAY worse than the original 3 episodes. At least you can say you played the best parts of doom I 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

And the worst you can say about Sigil is that its polarizing. Besides that, its not even official. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Wyrmwood Posted May 13, 2022 The start half of doom2 is much easier than ep4 so if your just learning I'd move straight to that if your struggling with ep4. Like others have said only a few maps are pretty tricky on it though, you'll come back one day and wonder why you thought it was hard. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
