dehextra implications

oh god i hope this is not a stupid question. does dehextra change what can be done with freedoom? as an example can there be a separate animation for melee and fire attacks for the imp without changing gameplay? or maybe have the cyberdemon use a different sprite for the rocket?

Yes, however it would break compatibility with the non-DEHEXTRA ports. If anyone ever went that direction, might as well use MBF21 too since most engines support both concurrently so far.
