sigil - found the solution

Recommended Posts

I can't seem to complete E5M4 on I'm too young to die.

I'm playing version 1.21 (the latest one available while writing this, the date is 08-05-2022)

the cave wall near the exit does not seem to open on the easy difficulty

Has anyone got 100% on all secrets, items and kills on I'm too young to die in SIGIL?

EDIT

nevermind... I found the switch located in the lava

the video was an earlier version of sigil that didnt have the switch

I just gave it a playthrough (dsda-doom complevel 3) and completed it with 100% kills/items/secrets (albeit with a bunch of rewinds on the crusher section).

but was it on "Im too young to die" difficulty?

I've seen many videos of people completing it on ultra violence

What source port are you using?

GZDoom version 4.71

It's perhaps a problem with the eye switches? (As far as I know, they can be bugged out to where they will close but not open the door they're supposed to open) Otherwise, I don't know. Now the real question is why you're playing on I'm Too Young to Die. (Not judging you by any means, it is a legitimate question)

Will check later but sounds like you are doing the right thing. If you have 4/5 secrets before the last area then open the blood spattered wall section near the exit (across the bridge, turn right and it's on the left) that should be it.

Edit: I am referring to the last secret. You may be talking about the actual exit wall.

Why would Romero lock progression behind secret hunting? It makes no sense for him to do that.

That cave opens with a switch you press, not the eye switches. I tested it in crispy-doom, and the wall opens, so I guess it should work on GZDoom. Yeah, I'll test in prboom-plus with the correct complevel, but looks like this problem is not related to the difficulty or the map itself.

Sorry I read the post poorly - thought it was about finding the last secret not the actual exit. My bad.
