Astro X Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) I always wanted to watch a pro (I'm certainly not one) beat one of the hardest levels I've created. So, in this topic I invite you to give my wad a shot and hopefully enjoy playing it. You'll be the first one to UV-max it saveless. I'd be very very thankful for that :) The levels have been tested by a few people, so they're good to go. It may seem too difficult during blind runs, but I do think the experience gets better once you learn the map. Anyways, the levels I'm highlighting are: MAP14: Tomb of Cheogh MAP18: Achtung MAP19: The Tehran Tower WARNING: The maps may be too long for a casual playthrough (around 20min to beat once you know it). Nefelibeta Posted May 16, 2022 Looks interesting, I'm not good at doom but I might give it a shot in the future. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Danlex Posted May 16, 2022 I don't consider myself a doomgod but I wanted to give this a try anyway, and I noticed that Map18 doesn't work in dsda-doom because the shootable door in the starting room is not tagged. The red switch in Map19 doesn't work either because it is placed behind a line that has an action; it can be fixed easily if you put the switch in front of that line. Map14 seems to work fine. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Doomy__Doom Posted May 16, 2022 Map 19 also has a -complevel 2 softlock in this secret - because of impassable decorations you can't cross the teleportation linedef: Spoiler 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Astro X Posted May 16, 2022 Thanks, guys! I had to forget about something. I did test the maps in Chocolate Doom, but the version I linked here does not work in vanilla, sorry about that! I didn't test in DSDA-Doom. I'm gonna update this thread once I fix this. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Astro X Posted May 18, 2022 I added a link to a Chocolate Doom compatible version, although MAP19 still refuses to work thoroughly. If anyone can figure out the problem, please let me know! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Doomy__Doom Posted May 18, 2022 Just move the torches a bit closer to the teleporters. Broken: Spoiler Not broken: Spoiler 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
SleepyVelvet Posted May 22, 2022 I'm not a doom-god, but maybe more like a doom-angel. Here's an FDA for Map19 that went a bit luckier than I deserved. I got about 10 minutes in with 180 monsters killed before I died. (shouldn't have gotten greedy for that armor). noisy_Astroverse_4_19m.zip (plays on the Choco version, recorded in prboom-plus 2.5.1.3 complevel 2) I checked out Map18 and it was half HoMs (Choco version). Map14 looked a bit too chewy, but after replaying it for a couple seconds afterwards, I now realize you can actually get the SSG at the beginning so you're not just single-shotgunning things down. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Astro X Posted May 22, 2022 Thanks so much for the attempts! I'm gonna watch your FDA. Yea, my maps reward the players for exploring, and also there are lots of optional sections that can prove to be worth visiting. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
