nobleflame Posted May 25, 2022 (edited) Hi all, What's the best midi player in PrBoom+ UMAPINFO? I'm currently using portmidi and SDL, but fluidsynth sounds off to me. Any recommendations for better soundfonts to use? Thanks! Edited May 25, 2022 by nobleflame 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
RottingZombie Posted May 26, 2022 I've been using gm dls remastered version 2 alternative.sf2 with fluidsynth, though I can't remember where i downloaded it. Basically windows' midi soundfont in higher fidelity. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Shepardus Posted May 26, 2022 I personally use Scc1t2.sf2. The one that comes with GZDoom (and dsda-doom, if you extract it out of dsda-doom.wad) is similar. Both are pretty close to the Windows default MIDI synth. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Downloaded 2.1 now. make sure to put the path and/or filename in quotes in prboom-plus.cfg to make it use the soundfont file. Edited May 27, 2022 by RottingZombie 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Sounds amazing compared to portmidi :D 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
xX_Lol6_Xx Posted June 1, 2022 I use Gravis Ultrasound emulation with Timidity and SDL, at least for me, music sounds better with that 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
