Synami Posted June 4, 2022 (edited) Don't run this on ports like or similar to GZDoom. Seconds per frame are expected! Might be the only levels I've seen which require some sort of dedicated GPU to run at a playable framerate. I have one and even then, GLBoom+ runs the first map at a whopping 35fps or so. To counteract the 9000+ revenants and 3000+ barons, you are supplied with a powerful BFG9000, a lifetime's supply of cells and quite a few 999% health megaspheres. Use them wisely! :') MAP01 was made in 2 hours, still includes the stuck barons as a mapping fault to not go over the time limit... and I still can't search where they are in my builder. UV-Max for this map should take around 15-20 minutes, depending on routing. MAP02 was made in around an hour, includes stuck cyberdemons. UV-Max should take under 6 (or even 5!) minutes if you know where the keys are. Significant lag should stop a few seconds after the invulnerability wears off. MAP03 was made on and off for around a week. UV-Max should take around 15 minutes, and features... actual difficulty! The map lags a little, but not as bad as MAP02. The invisible wall is a switch, which lowers extra enemies - kept it instead of the switch texture because I think it looks cool, even if it isn't too functional. This is the final map, because trying to make a map above 60k enemies would be... quite tedious. Grab the WAD! MAP01 Music link! MAP02 Music link! MAP03 Music link! Screenies! Spoiler Edited July 16, 2022 by Synami Inclusion of MAP03. Probably the final version of the WAD! 16 Quote Share this post Link to post
Synami Posted June 15, 2022 And there's now a MAP02! Even more abrasive on machines than the previous map, even if by a little bit. Through making the map, I was quite surprised how the max time is less than MAP01 considering the monster count, although in general it has admittedly less height variation for the monsters. Hope you enjoy! :) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Synami Posted July 16, 2022 ...and MAP03's released! Not as hard on machines as MAP02, but still probably requires decent specs. Probably the most difficult map I've made yet, so enjoy preserving health :^) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Peristalsis Posted September 23, 2022 You have an eye for visuals. The pale pink and dark pyramids of the first map are a striking design. The music and immediate introduction of the overpowered BFG combined with the new look kick the map into high gear, making the initial slaughter rampage downright intoxicating. Between this and And then; it's clear you know how to craft an aesthetic. Unfortunately, after the initial high wears off, there's very little of substance. The architecture is very simple and like the second map of And then;, once you survive the initial 10 seconds you've basically won. If you buckled down and made some intricate maps with more thought-out encounters, it be on par with the better DBP mapsets like Luminous Gloom or Lilywhite Lilith. With time, you could rival classics like BTSX or Going Down in memorability. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
