DoomGuy's-Personal-Giraffe Posted May 15, 2022 I managed to get it running on kemulator, but I cannot control the game at all. The buttons do nothing. Wondering if anyone knows how to get it working/ 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
UnknDoomer Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) Seems you are using wrong version of kemulator or the game, I suppose. Try this one https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/KEmulator, https://archive.org/details/KEmulator103. Arrows keys for move, enter for use/shoot by default. Works fine on my side. You can load virtual keyboard from cell phone also as well. Make sure you have JDK around - https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/downloads/#jdk18-windows Edited May 15, 2022 by UnknDoomer 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

UnknDoomer Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) Just grab one from the link and install it. After you can forget about one. It's required for several apps to run smooth, including old Java based cell phone apps. Edited May 15, 2022 by UnknDoomer 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
DoomGuy's-Personal-Giraffe Posted May 28, 2022 Not to be confused with Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, Doom Resurrection was a Doom 3 inspired rail shooter for the original iPhone, if I recall correctly. It's the final Doom game I have yet to play, and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to get it running on PC. It would be greatly appreciated. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

TheMagicMushroomMan Posted May 31, 2022 (edited) I played it on my old iPod touch years ago. You aren't missing out on much, trust me. It was impressive back in the day (when people were drinking virtual beer through their phones) but removed from its original hardware it is absolutely nothing special. I also remember the (better) RAGE on-the-rails shooter. Play MIGHTY DOOM instead, or don't. Edited May 31, 2022 by TheMagicMushroomMan 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
DoomGuy's-Personal-Giraffe Posted June 6, 2022 I managed to get the first Doom RPG running on Kemulator, but when I try to run the second game, or Wolfenstein RPG for that matter, it always just freezes on the first splash screen. If anyone could tell me what it is I have to do to get these running, it would be greatly appreciated. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Kinsie Posted June 6, 2022 (edited) There are no iOS emulators capable of playing commercial games, and the game has long since been delisted from the iOS App Store due to Apple removing 32-bit support from most versions of iOS. Your only option for actually playing the game is to find an old iPhone that either has it or can be jailbroken to run a version found... elsewhere. (Don't ask me where though, I literally don't know!) Frankly, though, you'd be better off living vicariously through Linguica's full playthrough of the game, because it's not very good. Kinsie Posted June 6, 2022 Kemulator seems to have issues with those later Id Mobile in some versions. On the version I used, the game would lock up when loading a level until you ducked into the options menu and cleared the SDCONFIG records. You might have better luck with FreeJ2ME. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
TheMagicMushroomMan Posted June 6, 2022 You've pretty much asked the same question three times now. Emulating these games can be a pain, you can either keep experimenting or buy a device capable of running the game(s). 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

So your best bet is an old Iphone. It isn't more complicated than that. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Gibbon Posted June 6, 2022 7 hours ago, DoomGuy's-Personal-Giraffe said: bruh Maybe do some educating of yourself before asking this stuff. There is a reason why Doom Resurrection is no longer on the AppStore anymore. It is / was a legacy 32bit application for the first and second generation iPhone and iPod Touch. When Apple forced 64bit on all their hardware from 2014, apps that were not updated (and which were not going to be updated) were pulled from the store. Let's be honest here, the game sucked. It had huge framerate issues and was a rail-shooter meant to show off the hardware and sell devices. Getting an emulator (and the problem of getting a 13 year old version of iOS) on it, is simply not worth the trouble. Buy a 2009 era device, jailbreak it and sideload the app onto it. That, or save yourself the mental anguish and don't play that crap. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
