Ralphis Posted June 18, 2022 (edited) PROJECT INTRODUCTION ------------------ Vesper is one of the first mods of its kind. Created by Xaser, Vesper is a shiny new weapon mod for MBF21, showcasing a full arsenal of high-tech & demonic weaponry that'll make you say "I can't believe it's not GZDoom!" Built using pure DEHACKED [DEHEXTRA + MBF21], with a little help from DoomTools, it doubles as both a feature demonstration and a standalone weapon pack. Blast 'em away with plasma shotguns, acid grenades, and heat-seeking blood sprayers! The Vesper Community DM pack will be the first ever MBF21 community deathmatch pack. MBF21 is a new and growing standard supported by only a handful of source ports - in fact, not even GZDoom fully supports it yet! For this mapping event, Odamex will be used to playtest the wad. A server will be configured and revisions of the wad will be uploaded regularly for testing. Ultimate Doom Builder is the recommended mapping tool. We want to produce high quality maps in this pack, but don't worry about the map being perfect. Work on a layout, receive feedback, and everyone can work together to polish their maps for the final product. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS / RULES / TIMELINE ------------------ • Collaboration and submissions will be handled via the Doom Central Discord. Server link here: https://discord.gg/jFPHDxEXqd • Current map claims, submissions, and status: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1P72VXsYH3iBIVLim6kU4WXrr2ah5oupBCO6pbjPR8rY • Please name all file submissions in the following format: vsp_map*xx*.wad • MBF21 Compatibility. Although Odamex supports Hexen map formats, please build in Doom format so all MBF21 engines can play the wad. • Maps should be built with 4-8 players in mind. • Only use the textures provided • Do NOT add exits to your map • Do NOT flag items multiplayer only • New music is allowed; please provide the midi • Post all downloads to your map in the #submission channel • Multiple events will be run on this wad on July 2-3, so the wad should be complete by July 1. • Please try to have your first submission complete by Fri, June 24. This will allow you a week to receive feedback and tweak your map. This is not a hard deadline for submissions. • If in doubt, ask for help! It's closer to two weeks, we're just trying to get some submissions playable by this coming weekend. Fri, June 24 is a loose deadline so that everyone doesn't wait until the final day to submit.
