After Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2,

Do you think there will be a new DOOM game?

And if so, then why?

 

Because I think there CAN be a new game, where the slayer comes back,

but what about the new enemies? Maybe they can be like the ones in Doom 3?

And maybe it can also take place on UAC, but that's just my opinion

Yes there will be a new entry to the series  and it will be titled Doom 7: The Slayer Rides Again.

Why are there so many threads that ask for our opinions without contributing one themselves? Seems very one-sided. Is this market research?

On UAC? The UAC is a company my man so... on the roof of their headquarters or something?

 

Personally I like the idea of side stories within the universe. Tell the story of someone else in the invasion a la Half-Life. It could more about using wits and cunning than sheer brawn, more like a survival horror.

Honestly I’d like to see a Wolfenstein reboot first. I don’t care about the future war stuff anymore. Just bring it back to WW2 and use Beyond Castle Wolfenstein and Spear of Destiny as inspiration. Bring back some of the stealth roots of the series while keeping the action intact with an epic quest for getting the spear of destiny as far away from the Reich as possible, work with the resistance which are being captured and turned into mutants or something.

The next Doom game (6) will be an indie retro styled shooter, the circle will then be complete and the gates will open, then when hell comes forth we can drown in a river of our own blood and get to take part in Doom itself.

That's not in the slightest what he is asking, less so that there are very similar threads that already provide a answer and speculation about a possible new Doom game.

Maybe, maybe! Maybe they can be new designs, maybe they can be Doom 2 enemies in high res sprites. Thing is that there is already a thread for that.

I wouldn't mind if ID just made something else. They've mainly relied on making Doom for a while since Wolfenstein was sold to Machine Games and the last new IP they've done (that I know of) is Rage. Maybe a new single player Quake? Maybe a new IP in general? Sure they might not go very well, but at least it's different.

 

ID has just sorta became known as The Doom Company, kept to making Doom stuff (and Rage sometimes) untill a real demon invasion happens and wipes us out. Doom Eternal was great, but not all great games needs another entry.

I've enjoyed each new id game to varying degrees, but may be at the point of exhaustion with the retconning of things I already like with new iterations of things I already know. But it's making them $gazillions$ so who am I. Whatever game they make, they should just call it Doom, because it wasn't confusing enough the first time.

Microsoft is just rounding up all of the shooter franchises from the 90s that id software had a hand in so they can release their own cross dimensional looter shooter with Doomslayer, Quakeguy, B.J., and Master Chief.

kind of like the 2011 version of DOOM 4(Which everyone called it an COD ripoff).

I’d like them to refocus on user content and traditional multiplayer. Coop, deathmatch, user levels and mods, shooting demons with shotguns - I find these to all be equally essential to Doom’s DNA.
