[Boom] [3 Maps] UAC Nukage Compaction: See where all those barrels came from

When a fresh swarm of demons descends upon Earth, Doomguy is pressed into service once again. Following the trail of hellspawn and armor bonuses leads our hero to an abandoned power plant- once the crown jewel in an alternative energy monopoly. Despite the dilapidated structures- and the demonic bedlam in all directions- the facility seems to be cranking out hundreds of barrels of ooze per minute, just like old times. Recalling old conspiracy theories about the secretive origin of the UAC's patented "super-fuel", Doomguy feels he has no choice but to investigate further...

UAC Nukage Compaction is a set of three Boom-compatible maps (with MBF sky transfers) that I've worked on intermittently since June of last year. Each map represents an exponential increase over the last- in terms of length, difficulty, and quality. I've gotten a lot better at Doom and Doom mapping since I started this project, and I think it shows (in a good way!).

This WAD represents my earliest wholly original Doom work, despite the rest of my output having been already released. I remade Doom II's MAP09 before I started this project, while KickScream and my three maps for The Ultimate TWANGO were side projects I completed in the meantime.

Have fun.

I decided to give your map set a try in gzdoom using my rpg mod. For the first video you can skip the first minute and 40 seconds of the recording to get to the start of your first map. I have to say I like how you did close quarters a lot and the maps are very well made. You are skilled in this kind of stuff and I enjoyed all three levels a lot. I do use jumping and don't care if I break the flow the maps in my recordings but I do try to at least see everything and I admit that I couldn't figure out all the secrets. Anyways, here are my recordings of running through them on my first try:

Just finished v1 of this wad. First two maps was fun, small tight rooms, small fights. 3rd map was bigger and lagging as hell on my old potato PC :)

Wow, that area near the end of Map 02 was EVIL. I didn't feel like going back to search for something allowing access to the red key and I have other things to do so I stopped there. Probably means I missed a fairly climatic battle. It takes a lot of temerity to make a map where you can only really use pistol and fists though. Applause-worthy.

Very nicely made mapset, here is my comedic review of it, like usual. I really enjoyed this one, especially since it's not too long and neither are the maps themselves.

Good job.
