Cybernight Zero Posted July 17, 2022 I'm having some issues with a doom level I made. It was made using ultimate doom builder and slade. The file runs with GZDoom just fine, but with ZDoom, I get a hall of mirrors effect. No textures are missing, and I've fixed the issues "map analysis mode" found. It was made using "Doom: Doom2 (Doom format) (I try to get as close as possible to Vanilla doom) It requires a limit removing port but won't run at all in Crispy-Doom. (No errors just doesn't start up.) I've attached a few screenshots for comparison, along with the file. (Its map03 for Doom 2) Try to ignore the Freedoom mod, as it has no bearing on the error. Dexiaz Posted July 17, 2022 I think I've found your problem: This very small sector just making your map lag, because it's also a literal gap to the sky. I don't know why you've created this sector, but you should erase it and the problem will be fixed. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Kappes Buur Posted July 17, 2022 (edited) Get rid of the sliver of a sector numbered 80. Use F3 to search for sector 80. Then move vertex 759 that small fraction to split linedef 1034. That will get rid of the sector and the HOM. The reason why the HOM does not happen with GZDoom is that GZDoom, over the years, was programmed to be smart in "overlooking" some mapping mistakes. uh oh, Dexiaz beat me to it. Cybernight Zero Posted July 17, 2022 ok thanks that problem is solved. One more thing. If you run that map in no monsters mode. While you're outside of that same building, after hitting the switch to open the door, there is a hall of mirrors in the door and windows. What would cause that? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Kappes Buur Posted July 18, 2022 (edited) You indirectly pointed to the problem already with this screenshot https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/pyvdcv8deyk.jpg Pressing the switch moves both, the door and this room, since both have the same sector TID.
