Doom HD Sprites and Textures (UPDATE 14.2.24)

Fire barrel is finished. I have problem with this because in higher resolution this sprites shaking in game.

Maximum resolution is around 220x350 px. Everything higher is problem. If someone know how is possible fix it will be very helpful.

I wasting time with alternative sprites. I do not know what new sprite will be next. There is not much. Almost all sprites are redone .

I do not like how looks skulls on dhtp textures. I want edit all textures in game with skulls and when was finished I give you download link people. Now are many HD packs but only dhtp has textures very close in original except some outdated textures . Only negative is that these textures are relative low_res...

If it's not been mentioned, are you going to tackle the player and monster sprites, namely original with Romero's added rotations for the zombieman, sergeant and player?

These are all very, very nice recreations, though I don't understand the damage on the green armor that is there.

only objects , items and decorations I will redone. No player weapons, monsters, player.... Yes details on some sprites are with my imagination because on original sprites do not see much and sometimes do not see nothing (armors ). I try to make them according to the original, but sometimes I have to improvise.

Animation is not good how on original sprites. Maybe in future I redone it but this is hardest sprite for me from whole game.

The green barrels rapidly fluctuate between original sprite and hd sprite.  As if one of the frames doesn't have a hd version.

Only explosion is not redone but base animation is ok. Problematic is only if you use mods with animation sprites with more frames how have default game. Solution delete barrel sprites or if you use beautiful doom disable decorations and items in beautiful doom menu . Reload save or restart level and play.

this prevent sprites from clipping. I do not found other solution but this works good but this working only under hardware renderer. In software do not works. In gzdoom must be  "adjust sprite clipping = allways" . On specific places this stripes are see over ground but very rare.

It doesn't work in any way if "sprite billboard x/y". And the question was not about how "adjust sprite clipping" works, but about stripes and why didn't you remove it?

Because Y axis is better choice and this is how 99% people this game play. Without this stripe has many sprites cut lower part. Same place how you have on screenshot. Without problems for me. (Y axis, hardware mode)

If you want I may do pack for software mode or x/y... I will place this pack for download in first post in this topic but later not now. If would be possible prevent clipping with other way I do not do black stripes but this is only one possible fix. Some sprites do not have this stripe especially some animated sprites with different size for frames (long torches) and all are with cut lower part and this do not look good.

This is not freelook problem. I play this game only with freelook with Y axis and everything works without problems and without visible stripe. Why want someone play this game with x/y bilboard ? This look strange and Y axis with free look works perfect. Ok I may do pack without stripes but you must play with clipping. Sorry but not exist solution play with HD sprites, without stripe and without cut lower part. This is game or GzDoom limitation and is impossible do it without cut. If someone know about better solution contact me and I fixed this for everyone.

EDIT in FIRST post !

I am added sprite pack for people who wants play in software mode or with sprite bilboard X/Y

These sprites clipping under floor in HW mode. Use it only if you know what you do... 

Please download it from first post.

"Billboard y" is suitable just for the game "no freelook". Majority who plays with "freelook" comes to the "billboard x/y" option.

So you're suggesting unsuccessful solution to an artificially created problem.

this is ok for me. Flat sprites never look how 3D objects and I do not play with fly command :D Is old game and every "3D" setting is only placebo and not real 3D but if you or other people want play with x/y I did pack for you. Nobody wanted it from me yet but I do not have problem with this. When I started this project I had two packs.One with stripes for HW rendering and one for software without stripes bud nobody download packs without stripes and I do not more updated it.

All gore sprites in game where are heads are with very low details. I must again improvise with some details...
