Doomworld and Launchbox a beautiful marriage!!!

Hello Doomworld 

What a wonderfully amazing world this is too.

Unfortunately for me i was a little late to party, i was still fumbling around with dosbox and a old cobra2.wad inside my launchbox build then i discovered you guys.

source ports from choco n crispy to GZ n Zandronum....... episodes n single maps to full on games the megawads are all amazing.

But i feel theirs a major injustice regards art work especially coming from a launchbox perspective.

A little reading here and a couple of batch files later i was up running with both crispy and gz scraped as msdos  gets u the 3d boxart fan art and metadata  for doom,doom2, hexen and the other official releases.

in order to keep my collection looking good i started creating 3d boxart for the megawads i play and getting information of author and all credits for metadata from here. I think it looks really good.

So i suppose my question to the community is that ...Am i the only one that feels this way and doing such things.

Seems like something that could be easily templated for photoshop/gimp, the result being as simple as plugging in some custom art related to the wad/whatever to the base Doom 1/2 box art. Neat :p

Hi guys  thank you for your kind replys ,a community project sounds good to me. I would happily up upload my works and enjoy seeing others too 

 

Yes this could be templated to,  I used ultimate Doom Boxart quite crudely as template by creating a 2d image for both front and spine of a box then pasted and free transform both over the already exsiting box in photoshop  but worked lol

i would love for this side project to gain some traction i the think the .wads deserve it.
