Worst color conbination

What is your opinion?

To me, it is bright purple and darker green.

Blue and red come to mind. Another bad combination is pink and red, pink and black is far better.

Dark drab brown (often used on cigarette packs since its a pretty unattractive color), and hot pink make for an unpleasant color combination!

A good rule of thumb is that if it's legible in black and white, then it will at least be serviceable in color. Almost any combination can work as long as there's proper contrast between them. In other words, I can't really think of any specific combination I dislike but wanted to join the fun anyway.

As for your question, well, vibrant purple hardly matches colors other than those closest to it (blue, red, etc) is what comes to my mind right now.

This reminds me of that coconut strip candy, so it's alright with me. As for the question, imagine a dark purple with a bright orange. Two strong colors that just don't work together very well.

actually the Canadian flag looks dope (probably my favorite country flag). that's the one exception.

Red and cyan are opposite each other on the light color wheel but make for a terrible combination. Although there’s not many colors that gracefully combine with cyan when I think about it

Never in a million years, I wouldn't make a personal jab, jape, or jibe like that.

 

I was just joking about Doomworld's color scheme, which I actually love. I can't really think of think of any color, or any combination of them that I hate. I'm just really grateful that I can see color.

 

They may be grating, but I think of the many men in my family that literally can't see the shades I do, and I'm thankful. They'll never know the pain of seeing neon pink, green, or orange. Or the joys of seeing an orange sunset, or the green and blues of the Aurora Borealis.

Meanwhile, I’m stunned to see how many do not fancy the contrast of the timeless cacodemon D:

 

I’m also having fun imagining instances where I’d enjoy seeing the contrasts disliked by others. Brown and pink up there reminds me of ice cream, or a mountain range backdropped by a twilight sky.

But I think Super Mario World hacks delivered sometimes the worst color palletes possible. Often intentional and unintentional.

Really depends on the context the colors are used in. 

 

One could hate green and pink together but a lotus flower surrounded by green vegetation makes sense.

 

One could hate blue and red, but Meso-American temples and buildings where usually red, covered with a bright blue sky on hot summer days.

My two favorites are DOS brown/green CGA and anything on the ZX Spectrum.
