I'm editing the wiki right now I don't even care that trite can't possibly exist

Well, this guide can't be "Ultimate" if you don't list every item and enemy in every difficulty

MARS CITY

-In the zombie closet in Manifest Control Office, there are three more armor shards on Recruit
-In the office with the A.C.O. keycard there is one large medkit on Recruit
-There are 4 armor shards next to the small medkit in the Conference Room on Recruit and Marine difficulty
-A zombie in a jumpsuit in Sec Ops Processing  does not spawn on Recruit
-Apart from the small medkit, there is a security armor and a large medkit on Recruit and Marine in Security Operations and also a large clip on Recruit
-Another security armor is on the right in the Sec Ops Junction on Recruit only
-The shotgun Z-Sec in the Infirmary Access Junction only spawns on Veteran. Most of the shotgun Z-Secs are Veteran only.
-The imp in the Operation Station only spawns on Veteran, but you can still hear the guy in that room die regardless of the difficulty
-In the Infirmary there is a large shell box on Recruit, the only one in this level
-Only one Z-Sec comes for you in the Infirmary Observation Room on Recruit
-Inside Combat Preparation there is another security armor on Recruit
-There is an extra large clip on the link-up computer on Recruit in Marine Headquarters
-The Z-Sec that comes for you after the communication with sarge does not spawn on Recruit. The other one in the infirmary still does
-Another large medkit and a 2 large clips will spawn in Marine Command Access on Recruit 
-After staying in the Common Area, only one pistol Z-Sec will spawn, the machine gun one won't on Recruit
-There is a large medkit in the Restroom on Recruit and Marine
-The shotgun Z-Sec at at the end of the Command Access Junction is removed on Recruit
-There is a large medkit on the reception desk on Recruit and Marine
-As usual, the shotgun Z-Sec behind the railing in the ACO Offices does not spawn on Recruit
-The second Z-Sec in the ACO Lift Junction is not present on Recruit or Marine
-In the last room, one imp will come from behind you on Marine and none on Recruit, where you will also find a small medkit
-On the balcony where the imp and the pda was, there is a large medkit on Recruit and Marine
-There is a large clip that was removed on Veteran in Duncan Matthews' office and another large clip that spawns in the other office further down the hallway on Recruit

HUGE UPDATE: You can use the console command "extractResourceFile maps/(mapyouwant).resources base/maps/(mapyouwant)" to extract a map file and it's resources from the BFG Edition. That means that now I am contractually obliged to check every map, for every enemy, for every item, for every difficulty, AGAIN.

OH MY GOD. After a month of trying to find items everyday, it has only occurred to me now that the editor has a Map Info button that shows you how many items there are in the level, no need to manually look for them :/ 

ALL THE TIME SPENT ON ALPHA LABS 2 TRYING TO FIND THOSE GRENADES AND THEY DON'T EVEN EXIST 

I am still not going to use this and just watch BigMacDavis' videos while writing down every item down in Notepad while having the editor open.

Currently missing one Lost soul and one Cacodemon. I have found the lost soul in the editor and its trigger, but I can't get it to spawn.

Edit: The lost soul and the cacodemon can't spawn, i've checked with the editor. Well, the cacodemon can in the original. And I've found an extra imp as you can see on my other thread.

Screw you all this is a movie review thread now. I'm watching Doom Annihilation I'll edit this to add things.

Also, I loved Doom 2005. Great movie 8/10.

 

First thing, the security clearances are accurate! The Delta Labs science team actually uses clearance 4.

Oh god is this Black Mesa why is it in the desert.

This teleportation sequence with weird acting and CGI reminds me A LOT of Classic Doom 3's intro, the one where the Imp just removes someone's head.

Now it's Aliens. Great.

The computer voice is not accurate it isn't yelling VIDEO LINK-UP REQUESTED every 2 seconds.

I like the design of the dropship. Bulky and with sharp angles just like Quake 4's SMC Destroyers, but more detailed.

What is this acting. And why is it Aliens again this is the Mixom version of Aliens.

I didn't really like the side cast of the first movie that much, especially Portman. But they were great great actors and all lines were delivered well. I would prefer 10 Portmans instead of these generic uninteresting people. Goat was the GOAT.

Dr. Petersen? I guess he runs an abstract kind of experiments. In the same way this movie is an abstract kind of "good".

I love how they're standing like NPCs before cowering in fear. This scene could be in Cyberpunk.

The demon sounds are good too I like them. The music is the most generic thing possible. The first movie's one wasn't exceptional, but it had a few bangers, namely the FPS scene, Go to Hell, Mac Attack and of course, Mass Onslaught.

I started wondering who designed these levels, and they're the guys on the offices on Delta Labs 2a:

Mal Blackwell started by making wads for Doom in '94, then was hired to make Redneck Rampage levels which are objectively not that good and eventually made levels for Return to Castle Wolfenstein which are indisputably great, especially the baked-in lighting. He made the caverns and the last level with the Cyberdemon bossfight. He specializes in industrial and cavernous settings. Here's him with what appears to be an alpha build of Doom 3:

Matt Hopper, also a level designer, made the levels for Mini Golf Master 2 for Windows 98. “Hooper was the id developer who responded to last year's Doom 4 art leak, saying the images published on the internet were "nothing to do with what you're gonna see in Doom 4".” He now works at Oculus. He made Mars City and the underground and specializes in scripting.

Jerry Keehan still works at id, and is Mission Design Director for Doom Eternal and its DLCs. He was presenting a panel at QuakeCon 2016 and looks like a chad. He says in the totally legitimate Making of Doom 3 pdf that I found that he made Delta Labs 2a (so he is the one who put everyone's names on the doors), Delta Labs 3 and 4.

Sorry for my 3 month wait, I moved on to detailing the maps in Quake 4, but BigMacDavis, the myth the legend, reminded me of this and immediately got to work. Thank you again. And as this is my 100th post and this is the (20)22nd level, it only seems fitting to post it today on Doom's birthday.

This was the hardest level for me since countless Cherubs are stacked on top of one another on different floors that just interlap one another, and the editor doesn't have a feature for only showing a layer of the map afaik.

Because the number of cherubs in this level is ridiculous, here's a visualization of every enemy in the server area, in the order that you will encounter them. I like looking at the Doom 3 editor more than Quake 4's because the silhouettes are so much easier to see and identify. Everything looks the same viewed from above in Quake 4.

Found another secret bugged item!

This is an optional area just before you encounter the 8 trites in front of the elevator. There is a table on the right with a large clip.

But there is a stuck shell pickup clipping through the table. If you push the chair out of the way, you can pick it up. But this doesn't really matter since in the same room, a bit to the left, is a large shell pickup on top of a machine.

Id argue for your purposes of letting everyone else reference the data, make it as easy and readable as possible. Honestly I feel like you could be better off organizing this in some massive google docs thing when it's done, but I'd very much love to see the live updates on this.

I'm sorry for not posting in a while, I've had the busiest week of my life. This isn't that great of a timing.

I will post the Site 3 guide today and I'm expecting EVERY level to be finished this weekend.

Lab Section 2 features a lot of pretty gross-looking organic stuff. The modeler maybe had some other thoughts, because the names of these are imhorny_a.lwo and imhorny_b.lwo. Yikes.

So, sometime in early 2023, I will be re-doing my Doom 3 BFG Edition Walkthrough to accommodate all these items I missed. What's also REALLY cool is you're now adding in the triggers for the enemies and what gets them to trigger, perfect for a visual 100% Walkthrough. When I do re-do the videos, I'll be sure to give you full credit in every video, as these lists will definitely help, and make the guide on YouTube the ultimate guide.
