Memento Mori 3 is Cancelled

I felt a bit sad when I learned he was banned, I only heard he was banned because he was a dick in his posts again. I thought he was just a bit dumb and the language barrier played a role, but now that I learned this... A well deserved ban indeed. Anyway, I'll echo the sentiment that it'd be better if all of the maps were compiled in a single wad but with a new name and stuff.

Not sure how many maps you actually have at the moment, but why not polish and playtest what you have right now, slap on some UMAPINFO, so you can manage the "lack of maps" in a way that might make some sense, and then release as a 14-map-project (or however many) not related to memento mori..?

 

Not saying that nobody should make a memento mori 3 to begin with, but if you're gonna attempt to live up to an all-time-classic, why have it mired in "drama" such as this..?

Hey Doomkid, I'm glad you explained this as it makes it clearer to everyone the real reasons people are banned.  I see people complain about moderation sometimes but usually once I see the full picture the mod actions make sense.  Unfortunately sometimes it's deceptive because people only see the last thread or two that got someone banned, but they don't realize that they usually have a longer track record of offenses, sometimes off site.  So yeah, appreciate it.

It will take a good while to sort through, but that's not a terrible idea.

I highly regret ever calling Doomer Boards the "based server". Not only did I get (rightfully) suspended for it, but it's just an objectively false statement. There's a reason it's a home for all the members that got banned on DW.

 

Not to engage in self-pity, but I feel like a huge fool for that considering I'm part of the LGBTQ+ community myself.

As someone who was skeptical on the whole "Memento Mori 3" idea from the beginning, this project was honestly doomed to fail from the start. Some things were out of Shiba's control, such as the language barrier that they had and the like. The project overall felt like it was barely coherent from the beginning, and even the choice to revert back to MM3 despite being met with resistance to keep the project named that felt... off.

 

I can't say I had much work on my map due to IRL circumstances, collabing with another member at a slow rate, but it is a shame that others put hard work into their maps, and I do hope they can all get together to finish what was started. As for the character of Shiba themselves, it is a shame about what actually happened, and how the story was twisted enough as it was, but this is something that has already been stated by other members in this thread, and as such, I don't feel it necessary to contribute to the echo chamber we had going on.

 

A part of me hopes something can be done with a proper community and with someone with a more solid head on their shoulders, but as of now, it was (semi) nice being a part of this. This will definitely join the many infamous projects that have started only to fall flat. To the other members who were also a part of the project, it was nice meeting you all, and I wish you good luck in your mapping endeavors.

EDIT: I would also like to state for the record, if there is anyone who is looking to compile these maps or properly restart the project, you are more than welcome to contact me, I would most likely be more than willing to contribute.

Pics or it didn't happen.  These are just broad, nebulous accusations and brandings.  I also recently saw you try to slander Impie as an Alt-Right race realist, which squandered half of the respect you've had from me (which still leaves you as one of the most respectable and down-to-earth people out there, but still).  But be wary of "disingenuous vibes" that you may be accruing.  The fence you sit on has wobbled back so much, that it's soon to gape your asshole further than Goatsee.

 

And even with pics ripped out of whatever context they were yoinked from, I doubt it'd move the needle for me.  Shiba seems like a run-of-the-mill incidential doofy airhead asshole that barely registers as a threat on the Geiger counter.  Personally, I will always feel more comfortable around someone who calls me an "aids infested furry faggot" but with a mostly live-and-let-live attitude otherwise as long as I can read their intentions, ^{<3 Darknation <3}, than with people who clutch their pearls at a moment's notice and turn on people just to show how "well socialized" they are.  It's a weird world we live in, where people unironically boycott Chick-fil-A because they donated to Salvation Army at one time.  Language has a lot more dimensions than "ermagerd, a slur; I'm a trained dog and slur is bad".  If my prof pic didn't psy-dox my personality, then this mini-rant did.  Forgive me.

When did this project revert back to the Memento Mori name anyways? I remember a couple of months ago when the project was announced here that the decision was soon after made to change the name to something less drenched in legend.
