[PsyDoom] Doomsday of UAC Conversion

This is a conversion of one of the most well-known, user created PC Doom maps, Doomsday of UAC (a.k.a. UAC_DEAD.WAD), to PsyDoom, to give it the PlayStation Doom feel. I did not try to stay within the limits of PlayStation Doom (sector heights, etc.), so this would not work on a real PlayStation. This port will only run in PsyDoom.

You will also need the BIN/CUE files for PlayStation Doom or Final Doom. There is a popular archive website that has these files. 😆

 

Changes made:

• Added colored lighting
• Added Nightmare Spectres
• Added reverb
• Music
• Simplified textures to better match PlayStation Doom (kept some from PC Doom)
• Using Lua scripting for boss room and final hallway, instead of traditional linedef/sector triggers
• Probably more that I'm forgetting

To run the mod, follow these steps:

1. Unzip the zip file to the folder of your choice.
2. Make sure your CUE file is selected in the launcher under "Game disc".
3. Browse to the UAC_Dead folder under "Mod directory".
4. Set your launcher options, if needed, then click "Launch PsyDoom!"

I will have to check this out when I get get some time,  Love Psydoom and new levels for it

Liking it so far. Died at the lava staircase section, but I like some of the smarter tricks such as the door before the first baron encounter (played on UV).

 

Also, TIL Doomsday of UAC is set in Jakarta according to the readme text.
