UAC-M9 is out! (limit removing map for Doom 2, MAP01)

Here we have the final map in my series recreating Knee Deep in the Dead. This is a huge map that reimagines E1M9, Military Base, with the player beginning in the same start area as one of my earlier maps, UAC-M3. In a way it's sort of  an

alternate universe version of that map, where you traverse Military Base instead of Toxin Refinery. If you're into sprawling, non-linear maps that's also friendly to speed runners, you're in for a good time. In a way this is strangely relieving, as I've been working on this series for years and it's nice be able to say that it's now complete. UAC-M9 features:

 

  • Custom music composed by me, so use an .mp3-friendly port to hear it.
  • A custom sky, and a few textures from Doom 1.
  • Intense, dramatic, and detailed use of light and shadow in order to deepen immersion
  • Fake bridges, suspended props, transparent doors and other fun vanilla tricks
  • Tons of optional areas for adventurous players
  • Lots of secrets that reward the player both with power-ups and engaging exploration

@ScrappyMcDoogerton, thanks for the playthrough. Since I composed the music (something I didn't initially make clear), you need not worry about copyright strikes; it'll eventually appear online.
