'Bethesda.net has encountered an error. Please try again.' 'Error Code 2000'

There is a guy on Steam forums who has encountered this issue, and it seems like he hasn't been able to fix it for quite some time now. I tried to help him, but none of my suggestions worked. On top of that I can't find any mentions of "error code 2000" anywhere. Does somebody know what this error stands for? @Edward850 maybe you know what the problem might be?

You haven't explained what this is in relation to. What's giving them this error message, where and when?

I don't do the Doom1&2 ports so this has little to do with me. He's probably having an account issue though and should contact Bethesda support.

I had a similar problem when I was trying to get the mobile ports set up on my phone, I think what I did was sign in on the Bethesda website to make sure I’ve got all my details correct, and then sign in on the unity port. I’m pretty sure the unity port gives an error code instead of telling you your account details are wrong, so it might be related to that.
The person in that forum should try logging in at the Bethesda.net part of the menu, if that fails try what I did, and if that fails then reinstall.

Since Doom 1 and 2 have multiple source ports, why play those games using Bethesda accounts?  He can skip the middleware and just get to playing the games themselves.

Pretty sure he either played on console or either its first time playing on doom.

The OP asked to not suggest other source ports in the very first post, so I guess it's not our business to question the choice of source ports.

As for the Bethesda's version of the game, well, it's definitely not the best way to play Doom on PC. In my personal experience I get smoother gameplay while playing the game in Dosbox, so yeah...

"Are you truly ripping and tearing if you're not logged into your Bethesda.net account?"

Anyway. Maybe it's not our business to help someone who immediately dismissed actual help as "useless responses" because he "does not care", either.

That’s not fair, the guy clearly wanted help with that specific issue, and telling him to use a different sourceport isn’t particularly helpful in that regard.
