How to lower volume for a single SFX in SNDINFO?

Triangle Box Studio

Question

I am not quite sure how to use this lump. I typed this:

$volume Bzz/Bzz BZZ 0.5

But I keep getting an error. What am I doing wrong? I am trying to lower the volume of just a single SFX in sound info. Thanks!

Try:

$volume Bzz/Bzz 0.5

Tried it. Didn't work.

Here's my SNDINFO without the volume code. I can't find anywhere online with an example of how to properly put the volume code in my SNDINFO. I want to lower these SFX.

Bzz/Bzz BZZ

Bzz/pain BZZ_HIT

Bzz/death BZZDEATH

$volume soundname <volume>

Specifies a modifier to apply to this sound's volume whenever it is played. This value is multiplied by the volume specified in the script or actor definition triggering the sound to determine the final volume. The default and maximum value is 1.0. It is not possible to amplify a sound's volume with this instruction, only decrease it.

The above is from the wiki - read more here.

If SNDINFO fails you, it might be easier to slap the sound into Audacity and edit the sound effect directly.

Just paste the $volume command after definition of the sounds. Or show us how you defined it.

Usually, replies like 'it dont work' dont help much. If you show us what dont work, we can correct your mistake. But 'it dont work' is just an emotion thrown.
