Selection of EDGE mods

To coincide with the release of EDGE-Classic v1.2 I've set up a ModDB page where I have uploaded a selection of EDGE mods, both old and new to accompany it.

 

Some highlights:

Started studying. Actually, I started playing in edge quite a long time ago, and not in zdoom.
Are jumps and crouches disabled in arctic wolf?

Possibly, since the original mapset was not intended to be played that way.

The new arctic wolf is amazing. Although earlier this game passed by my attention.
Please tell me, is an actor or "clips" used for collisions with a 3D model, like it is done in a cubeengine/assaultcube?

If I recall correctly, just went with putting blocking lines around the truck, or maybe it was a 3d floor.

I don't remember offhand, maybe CJ wil chime in.

In EDGE mobj collision is still the old doom way with a radius and height marking the boundaries, so not good for a rectangular shape object.

EDGE64 is awesome indeed! Played several betas and had a blast.

 

I didn't include it because Chutzcraft is still working on it and the beta versions he releases are time-limited downloads.

But when it goes gold, it will be added for sure.

 

In the meantime you can try Astral Pathfinder by the same author.

Thank you very much. Can't really take all the credit though as it is based on a legacy mod, I just kind of updated it.

 

With the 3d model it is blocking lines.

The blocking lines seem to me to be very similar to the clips from the cubeengine (it's also 2.5D): https://assault.cubers.net/docs/mapediting3.html#clips

Can they be used to enrich the map and add, for example, stairs and platforms similar to the screenshots below?

Well EDGE-Classic has 3D floors so you can have platforms and steps you can walk over or under.

Not sure if that answers your question.

Yes, this is slightly different from how it is implemented in AC. There, the maps also have a two-dimensional structure, with information about the height of the floor and ceiling. But AC can't do 3D floors. I think the following technical questions would be more appropriate for me to ask on the main Edge-classic forum.
