2022 A DOOM ODYSSEY

 

 

It's finally here!

 

2022ado is a Boom/MBF compatible megawad (seriously a mega megawad) for the Ultimate Doom. It is a tribute to the original 2002ado released 20 years ago but with all new maps and music. The megawad has taken over 5 years to create.

 

The story so far:

20 years later an unknown signal has been detected from Jigoku, a hellish place from the Proxima Centauri
system originally thought to have been defeated. Sounds kinda disturbing, but the hellspawn has been resurrected
and you have been sent on a mission to block their path. Upon arrival, you enter the base and fight your way
though the dark corridors. As you progress things start to turn nasty, it gets darker, the stench increases
and the sweat blisters out of your oily skin. With the earth base and nearby hell cooked, you are teleported
to Proxima Centauri D (Jigoku) to finish the job. So grab that gun, lock, load and rip and tear and show those 
Demons who the boss truly is.

 

This is the final version and it has been uploaded to idgames. Special thanks to everyone for finding major problems during the public beta phases.

BONUS MAPS

Each episode contains a super secret E*M10 only accessible in MAPINFO ports. All maps are very
hard to find and the super secret exits which are hidden from the automap do not count as 
a secret area. It will take some figuring out to find these maps but once you figure it out
the strategy to find the maps are similar. These maps are not the greatest and are just designed
to be fun to play. All maps were created by Paul Corfiatis.

These maps don't need to be bug fixed, they are final.

Cheers. Now I need to make it to 60 to get 2042ADO hehe. Hopefully future generations will create future sequels if I was to be smitten by a Cacodemon before then.

Funny enough I just started a playthrough of 2002ADO 10th Anniversary with Soldier Z and DRLA Monsters. :P I'll definitely have to download this and give it a spin once I finish my current playthrough. :)

Cheers for that. Added it into the notes. Although I am sure the MAPINFO is working perfectly fine with Zdoom. I have tested it all but will check the E5 text.

It made me happy to see that some of the graphics are still silly, its not ADO without some trademark 'Pcorf Goofiness'

 

Its also nice to see UMAPINFO being adopted more often. It cant truly become 'Universal' till it spreads out :p

Yes indeed. Need a bit of goofiness in there. The UMAPNINFO was not originally intended but I created it so E5 can be played in the current version Prboom-Plus, not just Zdoom. It took some time for me to figure out.
