ActionCat Posted September 15, 2022 (edited) https://doomshack.org/uploads/Windows 95 Maze.wad It's the Windows 95 maze screensaver as a Doom 2 map. It's _hard_. Good luck. Tested only on GZDoom and uses the Ultimate Doom Builder format. Here's a video of the map Edited September 15, 2022 by ActionCat 14 Quote Share this post Link to post
Biodegradable Posted September 16, 2022 An oddly nostalgic, yet unnerving experience. Unfortunately I couldn't finish it because of those obnoxiously tank-y smiley faces. The music is funny at first, but it's way too short so it loops constantly and also gets way too loud at certain points. Near the end of my playthrough, I had to turn my music volume all the way down for the sake of my sanity. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
RastaManGames Posted September 16, 2022 I honestly tried to give it a chance, but I can't stand spongy enemies with insane amount of damage in crumpled maze with dead ends. Sorry, but this is not my cup of tea. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
MIDIchlorine Posted September 16, 2022 I absolutely love this concept--classic Doom definitely lends itself well to that liminal/nostalgiacore/backrooms type vibe. But yeah, I agree that the enemies take way too many hits for it to really be much fun to play. I'd also dial back the music a bit and maybe add some variations in lighting just so it's not so monotonous to look at; maybe have it gradually get darker and shadowier the deeper you get into the maze or something. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
LadyMistDragon Posted September 17, 2022 A real trip down memory lane. And I now hate you. No, but it does feel like a jokewad. Open GL guy is like the yeti from that Flash game. There ain't no stoppin' him! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
