Sally (Boom map)

Story: Sally the Beach Dragon wants to eat her pie but she's having a stomach ache. Luckily for her, you're here with a can of Dragon antacids. But a giant horde of demons happens to be going for a shopping trip at the exact moment you've set out. They catch wind of the pie and the mastermind in charge decides she wants it too, because she lost her 15%-off coupon for baked goods redeemable nationwide and is PISSED. This is the moment you've spent long hard hours in marine camp training for. It dawns on you, as the blood red skies spill over the Earth this fateful moment, that this next Sudoku is gonna have to wait. It's go time, now or never, never say die, never say never. 

 

Play info: Boom-format. Tested in Eternity and DSDA-Doom.

 

<10 min exit tally time for a casual pace. HNTR and HMP are implemented. Not an easy map. HNTR is still tough. Has some slight Dehacked. :)

Was going to write an actual review but holy shit this is the funniest slaughtermap I've ever seen.

 

The only gripe I had is

The fact some cacos and a few PEs can fly on the top of building which made it sucks to clean up and became a waste of time.

I just tried your map (didn't finish) and here are my thoughts:

 

Honestly, I'm not a fan of slaughter maps at all, but got intrigued reading the story on this thread but as we all know, story in a game is not important, like ones on a porno. Anyway, on what I did play, ammo was really tight and ran out of rockets quite often at the start and had to rely on good old chaingun. The layout of the level was decent, nothing spectacular, and the fights are just usual hordes of demons.

 

I give this one a 3.5/5 just for the story alone, otherwise it was just a 3. :)

You need to run away from monsters instead of rocketing them in the beginning, also prior knowledge helps on UV.

Yeah I'd recommend HNTR for "I don't normally play slaughter." If that was actually HNTR I'd consider adding a bit more ammo though. The only possible change I'd make on UV is moving rockets away because I end up with 15+ if I clear out everything in the first region (which is the least ammo-efficient approach). :P

This was so funny but playing it at almost 3 am wasn't probably the smartest idea, since I could have disturbed my neighbors with my burst of laughter as I watched the mastermind mad at the cacos. Good comedy as always, the cake trick is now one my favorite ideas of yours. The beach, volleyball court and red sky together reminded me of one of Good Morning Phobos secret maps that also has all of that, not sure if it's a reference or just a coincidence for me...

Plays fun, fair-challenge, looks good yet simple, has a cute story and comes with a fitting and upbeat midi. Loved it.

Good map! I also usually don't like slaughter but now I realize it's really just revenants I don't like. This one didn't have a single one, and it was really enjoyable. I spent most of my time dancing around the crowds letting everything kill each other, and dying many times in the process. Eventually I was able to get lucky and blast my way through the imp mob. I then found myself in a land of many spheres. From there it was pretty much a cake walk. Nice atmosphere, nice aesthetics. the floating skinspine textures were a bit weird, but I like weird.

Recorded on Skill 2 because I can't be bothered to go too hard, even though this is actually very hard. The musical accompainment was HILARIOUS. Cheesy jazz-fusion is kind of a guilty pleasure of mine, and with a silly concept to match! That ending was quite curious too:)lmd_sally.zip

That Dehacked monster is fucked. Good shit brother, I loved this. Took beach to a NEW LEVEL! Slaughter at it's finest, and cute visuals. I really liked that massive ass pie, and the rocket cache secret was cool.
